26 Nov 2025 Update: Did I mention it has weekly challenges and I do horribly at each and every single one of them. Game is still fun, though it's more of a pop in and play a round, type of game. I like it. :) I really like this game! I've been playing for a while now (a bit over a month). I'm not great at it, but I do okay. I really like the Ocean and Forest (?) locations/options. (Or reduce quality, which isn't my fave choice) The F12 approach to Screenshots works best because it's the most convenient, but you'll see the UI. Don't be afraid that the game is too short. I got it thinking that it was going to be a chill game to play a few short sessions but it is much longer than I expected. I've played for 6 hours and only done the small worlds and 1 medium. Games on big worlds probably take over an hour. Game is really easy to understand at the beginning and has a decent margins for optimizations to scratch points for the leaderboards.

I’ve never felt compelled to leave a game review before, but Preserve deserves it. It’s visually beautiful, calming, and incredibly satisfying in a way that just makes my brain happy. Could not recommend this game enough!

This is a fun game, with some caveats: Visually this is a very pretty game, although a bit cartoonish at times. It is an RNG based card game where you place cards to alter the current state of the world, in order to create preserves for the animals to live in. As you score points, you unlock more land to place, as well as gain additional cards (no hand limit). - If you enjoy card games, this game may be for you. Overall this is a puzzle game. Unfortunately, not all of the information to solve the puzzles are known up front, requiring extra attempts and/or using guides/screenshots to know what future shapes will be. - So if you enjoy solving puzzles/problems, then this game is for you. There are also only a limited number of puzzles (currently 9, expanding soon to 12) with 3 per biome. Each biome has its own unique path to completion, with two mechanics added (one at the middle size, and one at large). Due to the limited puzzles, you can expect to complete this game (all achievements) in about 15-20 hours once everything is released. - Replayability beyond there is up to you. Is it enough at the current price? Only you can answer this question.

No, that’s not a biodiversity simulator, and even the appearance of the animals here is cartoonish and polygonal. However, in my opinion, the game contains the most important thing - love for our natural world. This is evident in the pleasant visual style and the very essence of the game, which is about arranging various landscapes and animals in their natural habitats. Animals, weather conditions, and water bodies are available as playing cards, with the number of these cards increasing as the ecosystem develops, but something is always missing. For example, there are not enough bees to populate a meadow, or not enough tree cards to plant a forest, and so you have to improvise, using whatever is available. The game is entirely focused on making a cozy ecosystem. It is plain, simplified, but it works. Нет, это не симулятор биоценоза, и даже внешний вид животных здесь карикатурно-полигональный. При этом, на мой взгляд, игра содержит в себе самое важное – любовь к нашему естественному миру. Это видно во всём, начиная от приятного внешнего вида и заканчивая самой сути - грамотной расстановке различных ландшафтов и животных в естественных местообитаниях. Животные, погодные условия, ручьи и водоёмы выдаются в виде карт, число которых увеличивается по мере развития экосистемы, но чего-то всегда будет не хватать. Например, недостаточно пчёл, чтобы заселить поле. Или недостаточно карт с деревом, чтобы посадить лес, и тогда нужно выкручиваться, пользуясь тем, что есть. Игра посвящена спокойному и упрощённому созиданию экосистемы. Скромно, упрощённо, но это работает.
