This game combines my favorite 2 things, cozy games and cats! Step into the world of Tomkitty City, home to cat whisperers where you make quilts to appease cats, earn buttons (including the elusive rainbow button) and become the master quilter!* i am still a newbie quilter, but over time, you will see how my quilting skills improve. maybe someday, i want to quilt my own Tomkitty city quilt, and appease my own cats someday? only time and fate may answer... *i am not sure of the official term for this, but i think i am right...
I wish they would add more expansions to this game, like in wingspan there are more expansions. Just like there are new rules and new types of birds, I wish this games have new themes, like winter, autumn, summer, spring. easter, halloween, lovecraft, anime, magic etc. This is just like the DLCs in Wingspan, that each have their own rules.
The game is cute, relaxing, and good value imo. Some of the story puzzles are decently challenging (but they can become a bit tedious as well). A similar gripe is that once you really understand the game, it doesn't remain especially challenging. I also wish there were more live players for it. typically, you will just end up with Ai. Complaints aside, I still gave it a thumbs up because ultimately, it can be easily played in a smaller window and be a relaxing thing to do now and then while I listen to whatever book I currently have to read. It's also a game that seems worth returning to repeatedly now and then.
I've only just gotten started on this game and i love it so far! The art style here is very odd, kinda off kilter, but in a way i personally find delightful. The board game itself mechanically is one of those "very simple premise that quickly gets complex to play" sorta games. I don't think im gonna end up being "good" at this game per se, but im gonna have fun making slightly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up looking kitties :)
