It’s no RRT3. The research aspect is nice, but the lobby and similar sections feel artificial. It’s a simple, relaxing game. I bought it at an 85% discount; otherwise, I wouldn't have. As I said, it’s not as enjoyable as RRT2 or RRT3. Notably, there is no stock market mechanic. The maps are limited and look alike... the accounting aspect could have been better. I couldn't find where to view the profit and loss for the factories I purchased. The sandbox mode in RRT3 is far superior; it offers much more freedom when it comes to building factories and shaping the economy. There is a serious issue with graphics optimization. I’m certain a new version of the game will be released. If the developers reach out to me, I could contribute to the game design (I’ve spent a lot of time playing games like this).
I received this on steep sale and was happy with my purchase. About 35 hour campaign without DLC. As others have noted, the track laying, mechanics, and pathing are generally terrible, but not game breaking. The game is relatively easy, but I did fail a few times here and there-- which is a good thing. Would recco on sale if you like games like TSF.
