Rain on Your Parade is a very colorful game. No, I don’t mean literally, although it is extremely colorful and vibrant. I mean gameplay-wise. There are many aspects and complicated principles that game designers try to abide by, but Rain on Your Parade upholds and masters the first and most important principle: Don’t bore the player. There isn’t a single boring moment in Rain on Your Parade (and believe me, it isn’t the shortest game). Every stage has a gimmick, a story, a gameplay mechanic (or a creative way to apply pre-existing gameplay mechanics), a joke, a concept. If you’ve been thirsty (pun fully intended) for games with heart that burst with so much content that each hour feels longer than it is, this game will leave you with an overabundance. (Also, it has one of the friendliest communities and dev teams in the universe, their discord server is a gem that must be protected at all costs)

This is one of the coolest games I've experienced. I enjoy being a mischievous little cloud trolling around! The style, the gameplay, the self-irony of it all—brilliant. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s exactly what makes it so fun. Wholesome chaos at its finest.

A hilariously chaotic gem! Playing as Cloudy a mischievous cardboard cloud. The game introduces new abilities (lightning, snow, tornadoes, even zombie rain) at a perfect pace, keeping gameplay fresh . The parody levels are laugh-out-loud funny, especially the Office style sabotage, Metal Gear Solid stealth mission, Parks and Rec pigeon chaos and even DOOM 3D shooter. It masterfully makes being the ‘bad guy’ feel guilt-free and absurdly fun ruining weddings or summoning undead armies is pure fun. The unlocks are mainly cosmetic but it does give cloudy a change of apperance to suit the mood.

About 50 mini-games you play along a path that can be completed in 4-5hrs. The mini-games are akin to something found in the various LEGO games, quite easy and lasting only a few minutes each. The story is composed of puns and gamer humor that range from meh to mildly entertaining. The jokes/tropes are stuff an older gamer has likely encountered elsewhere. Be prepared to use a gamepad/controller and not mouse/keyboard if you want to do well. Get it on sale. I feel I got $10 of entertainment out of it for the relaxed 5 hours it took me to complete it.

Got the demo, then the game, played a bit of it, uninstalled, waited a couple years, then beat it. 10/10 Would rain on parades again.
