Fun game, but achievement hunters beware. There's numerous instances of people talking about specific annoying achievements not popping and i have one myself i've multiple times attempted which has failed to pop for at this point hours of attempts. Game itself is enjoyable, though.

I kinda hate shmup games. Most are way too hard to really be much fun. I am 45, I don't have reflexes like a cat, and I don't want to memorize every single enemy spawn just to have a chance at finishing this game. Which is why I love this game. Its totally beatable by the average gamer, you don't need to be a shmup freak. I also love that it is has an upgrade store. Not frantic upgrades you die trying to get, and then lose when you die. For a game from the 90s this was way ahead of its time. This may just be my favorite shmup of all time. I have played plenty, not a ton, but I am 44 and been gaming for over 25 years. I have played a lot. Mouse is a little wonky, it feels stuck, but honestly just jangle it and it becomes unstuck. My xbox controller worked no problem out of the get go but I couldn't figure out how to switch weapons, but you don't really need to that in this game. I can't believe this game still holds up after so long.

A bit better version of the classic shoot'em up. This time game runs at 24 FPS instead of 15 FPS on DOSBox. Controller is working fine, just make sure to manually save after each mission or risk losing progress as there's no autosaving feature. Game is missing also some CRT filters to make it feel more nostalgic. Gameplay is good and controls responsive. Take on 4 different locations with a few missions each. After each mission buy some upgrades like better main weapon, bombs, rockets, shield, etc. Music is ok. Overall ok shoot'em up but with some minor technical flaws.

when i was a kid my dad got me a copy of the shareware version of this game and I played it until i memorized every single position of every plane and building and knew my flight lines, I just played it like almost 30 years later and remember the positions and timing of the first couple parts of bravo sector. I really didn't know that it was just a demo back then but now that I'm an adult i look back and think what an AH he was for not getting me a full version. Anyway it's an amazing game and I'm happy i was able to pick it up for 83 cents instead of having to find some sketchy emulator website.
