This is a good game. I remember playing it for the longest time with my friends back in the day... One thing. If your menu is sluggish then go to Options -> Advanced video -> Max Frame Rate set it to some actual frame rate like 60-70 fps, if you leave it on no limit depending on your GPU it might try to get way too many fps at be slow instead... P.S. And driving is as weird as I remember it too... it is supposed to be RC car, so light and easy to flip, so hitting a small rock or landing slightly unevenly might completely screw you over... though getting better wheels helps with that if you were wondering...
Difficult to control/race but fun Re-Volt like game. Music is more rock than Re-Volt. No weapons either and less variety in track types. But I still like it!, as good RC Car games are rare. Has character/vibe with fun animated start movie and funny character artwork etc. Do Recommend. And works well on SteamOS on Xbox Ally X device, and setup Steam Input such that right-stick becomes mouse movement for the menu navigation.
I remember borrowing this game from the library as a kid and installing it on our new Windows XP computer. I loved it so much. This game is most likely the start of my love for racing games. Right now it's a bit dated though. If you don't have any nostalgia for this game then I'm not sure if I can recommend it. But if you do have any nostalgia for this game then it's well worth it imo
