Red Comrades 2: For the Great Justice. Reloaded is a faithful revival of a classic point-and-click adventure that proudly embraces its eccentric personality instead of trying to modernize every aspect of its design. Developed by Buka Development and published by ESDigital Games, this remastered edition preserves the offbeat humor, colorful presentation, and unconventional storytelling that earned the original a devoted following. Rather than relying on dramatic action or cinematic spectacle, the game focuses on clever dialogue, unusual scenarios, and classic adventure mechanics, making it an enjoyable experience for players who appreciate old-school puzzle adventures with a strong comedic identity. The story wastes no time diving into absurdity. Following their previous encounter with alien invaders, legendary heroes Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev and his loyal companion Petka become caught in another bizarre chain of events when Chapaev is abducted by extraterrestrials and fitted with a mind-control device that transforms him into a dangerous weapon. Their desperate search for a solution eventually uncovers a hidden time machine beneath ancient catacombs, transporting the pair from revolutionary Russia to America in 1969. This outrageous premise provides the perfect excuse for an adventure packed with historical satire, science fiction, and a steady stream of surreal situations. The narrative never aims for realism, instead inviting players to enjoy an unpredictable journey where almost every encounter delivers another unexpected joke or strange twist. Gameplay remains rooted in traditional point-and-click adventure design. Players explore numerous hand-crafted locations, collect useful objects, converse with an assortment of eccentric characters, and solve inventory-based puzzles that require observation and experimentation. Many challenges demand creative thinking rather than straightforward logic, often encouraging players to interpret humorous dialogue or unusual environmental clues before discovering the correct solution. The absence of excessive guidance captures the spirit of classic adventure games, rewarding patience and curiosity while occasionally testing players with puzzles that intentionally follow the game's own delightfully irrational logic. One of the game's greatest strengths is its writing. Nearly every conversation contains witty remarks, exaggerated personalities, or satirical references that poke fun at politics, history, pop culture, and science fiction. The humor ranges from subtle wordplay to completely ridiculous situations, giving the adventure a distinct personality that rarely takes itself seriously. Every new location introduces fresh comedic opportunities, ensuring that exploration feels entertaining even when players are searching for puzzle solutions. Fans of unconventional comedy will likely appreciate how confidently the game commits to its bizarre sense of humor without trying to appeal to every audience. Visually, the remastered edition successfully preserves the charm of its original artwork. The colorful hand-drawn environments and expressive character animations complement the whimsical tone, while widescreen support and improved compatibility allow modern players to experience the game without technical frustrations. Although the presentation naturally reflects its age, the artistic style has enough personality to remain appealing years after its original release. The soundtrack and voice performances also reinforce the game's playful atmosphere, with energetic performances adding extra life to the memorable cast and enhancing many of the comedic moments. The Reloaded edition wisely focuses on accessibility rather than reinvention. Modern system support, achievement integration, and quality-of-life improvements make returning to this cult classic far easier than before while preserving the mechanics longtime fans remember. However, players accustomed to contemporary adventure games with extensive hint systems and streamlined progression should expect a more demanding experience. Some puzzles can feel intentionally obscure, but overcoming them provides a satisfying sense of accomplishment that many classic adventure enthusiasts continue to appreciate. Replay value comes from revisiting the game's memorable dialogue, discovering overlooked jokes, and experimenting with optional interactions scattered throughout its many locations. Achievement hunters also have reasons to explore every corner of the adventure, while returning players may notice additional references and humorous details they missed during their first playthrough. Although the campaign is not exceptionally lengthy, its distinctive writing and unusual scenarios help it leave a lasting impression. Red Comrades 2: For the Great Justice. Reloaded succeeds because it remains true to its original vision. It offers a refreshing blend of comedy, imaginative storytelling, and classic point-and-click gameplay that feels increasingly rare in today's gaming landscape. While its old-school puzzle design and deliberately eccentric humor may not appeal to everyone, players willing to embrace its unique style will discover a memorable adventure filled with charm, creativity, and countless amusing moments. It stands as a successful restoration of a cult favorite that continues to entertain through its originality rather than modern trends. Rating: 8/10

A continuation of the legendary russian point-and-click adventure game based on the russian anecdotes about Chapayev and the overall gaming and media culture of the 80s and 90s. Also the second and the last game of the S.K.I.F. studio. Feels more like a DLC than a true second title (but of course the game came out in 1999 when there were no DLCs), so my theory is that developers just gathered the material that was cut from the original game and made a second title out of it because the first one was so popular and the publisher insisted on it. It is super sure and contains some reused assets from the first game, but in terms of quality it's still a funny and good drawn game.
