On sale this game is an <insane> value. For something like 5 bucks you get a fully featured driving sim that is on par with Assetto Corsa (which is also an insane value). It is dated graphically, but otherwise it is excellent -- well, with some notes.... Expert reviewers claim that the FFB modelling, physics and tire modelling in this game are genuinely first-rate. This is literally one of the top sims for driving physics according to folks who claim to know such things. Its car set up features seem very complete. It has an interesting system for setting up quick races v ai, and the UI pretty intuitive. The bad? Well, it has NO career mode at all, lol. (Not a big deal at all imho... and I love the way you can configure the skill and aggression of the AI drving against you in races.) But the bad starts to become apparent as you get deeper into the content. There's a bunch of a la carte premium content that used to be free or at least bundled and priced more reasonably but now it's like 5 bux a track and 4 bucks a car... so, that sucks but then all driving sims seem to be into cash-raping their users now. It isn't iRacing at least. But worse, some of the original supplied content is JANKY. I think this game is in the bargain bin because they lost (or decided to no longer support) licensing agreements. So you get some tracks going by weird names (Monza is Brianza! Lol. Monaco is Monte Carlo... Spa is something silly cant recall) but worse original items can be a bit broken... the pit lane at "Monte Carlo" is totally broken for example... but a premium version (presumably with a functioning pit lane) of that track, Cirque D'Azur (something like that) is available to buy... wtf is up with tht? The free content available on STEAM WORKSHOP is NOT really <<extra content>>... the content there by Studio 397 is the content of the game that gets installed when you buy it... How it's also in "workshop'" I don't really understand, but if you subtract that Studio 397 stuff from the workshop offerings, you'll see whats left is pretty thin. (Although some of it looks pretty cool, gotta try it out.) So yeah for 5 dollars you get some issues. I haven't tried out online multiplayer yet (am waiting for my FFB wheel to show up)... but if the multiplayer is ok at all this game is a major steal despite the negatives such as they are. The core of this thing seems excellent. I think it's been abandoned/moved-on-from by its studio. FYI it is made by Studio 397 which is the developer of the current "hot" car sim, Le Mans Ultimate, which I guess sucks up all the attention. But the sad part is I think rFactor2 is in the bargain bin when maybe it deserved a longer, better run. Which happens to A LOT of games. Look. I only have a few hours in this game and I'm not an expert car simmer so you should research more than my opinion... there are issues I haven't gotten to in this review -- but google AI solves all documentation "how do I?" problems.... bottom line -- at the sale price this game is ridiculously worth exploring for anyone into sim driving.

Cars' physics is mostly better than any other sim. And, OMG, the tyres! You can feel them. Racing the AI is really good: way, way better than AC, on a par with the AI in AMS2, maybe even better. I got all of the content (which does cost a bit), but I'm very happy I did. The game can, often, look really good too, almost at the level of AC. I'll be using RF2 for a long time.

Not perfect!!! Nothing is,really...but if you're looking for " A more physics realistic experience " RFactor2 is Uneven, the tyre physics is like no other!!! yes there's good games out there but so far none manage to represent such physics, is all about Graphics and Arcade, away from my preferences. Studio 397 brought good work into Rfactor2 trying to revive Rfactor2 for the great Sim that is but more work need to be done, hopefully this Sim will be in a continuous developing and more cared for. Good races to all those that loves the Sim...

Definetly the best tyre-model available today together with Le Mans Ultimate (a de-facto direct son) and rFactor1-GTR2-AMS1-RaceRoom. Here you feel the asphalt and you don't get the boring dry fly-over-the-track of iRacing/AC/ACC/AMS2. Such a great game with great DLCs and an online community with free downloads.
