it's very simple, it has many flaws, insanely repetitive and very very very grindy but my god it's addictive.

I don't often write reviews, but I feel I need to for rising star 2. I've played the other similar games on steam, but this one is the elite choice. The grind may feel daunting, as an ex- drummer on a Warped Tour side stage, I can tell you, yeah man... it is! And once you break through to that next level, this game makes it feel worth all the efforts. From the battle of the bands in bars to the theaters and to the arenas and then the stadiums with a pyrotechnic show. What a ride! Much like real life, the magic trick to success is song writing. Want to get big? grind the tours, trash the hotel rooms, upgrade the band's abilities, and write. great. songs. The last point I want to make for anyone wondering if this is worth whatever it is priced at on steam when you're looking... I reported a bug (p.s. it wasn't a bug, I'm just dumb). I got an email from the developer, we had an email conversation about it... the next week there was an update and it was resolved (really it was clarified bc it was never a bug to begin with). I'm not sure if there's ever been a better 'rock star simulator' and I can tell you I'm a true fan of this game, and this developer. I can't wait to see what they come up with next. A rising star 3 (or something in the same vein of rock star simulator genre) is all I can ask for. In the meantime, I will continue my stadium tour in support of my number 1 record and never forget all of the lawns I had to cut to get here...

It's a rather simple game but challenging enough to keep your interest. A bit repetitive but still found different things to do to break up the monotony. Some people probably won't like it but I found it fun!

Rising Star 2 is an engaging and ambitious music simulation game that offers players the opportunity to live the life of an aspiring musician, navigating the challenges and triumphs of building a career in the competitive world of music. Developed by New Single Development, this Steam title combines elements of role-playing, strategy, and rhythm gameplay to create a rich and multifaceted experience. It builds on the foundation of its predecessor by introducing deeper customization, more diverse musical styles, and expanded career management options, making it a compelling choice for players who enjoy immersive simulations centered around creativity and personal growth. The heart of Rising Star 2 lies in its detailed career mode, where players start as an unknown artist with dreams of stardom. From choosing your musical style and instrument to writing songs, recording albums, and performing live gigs, the game emphasizes authenticity and progression. Players must balance creative decisions with practical concerns like managing finances, networking with industry contacts, and handling the pressures of fame. This blend of strategic planning and artistic expression creates a dynamic gameplay loop where success depends on both talent and savvy decision-making. The game encourages experimentation with different genres and sounds, allowing players to carve out a unique identity for their musician. One of the game’s standout features is its customization system. Rising Star 2 offers extensive options for personalizing your character, band members, and musical equipment. Players can select from a variety of instruments, styles, and visual aesthetics to craft a musician that reflects their vision. The songwriting and composition mechanics also provide depth, as players can influence the mood, tempo, and structure of their tracks, which in turn affects audience reception and critical acclaim. This level of detail adds an immersive layer to the experience, making each playthrough feel personalized and rewarding. Performing live shows is another highlight of Rising Star 2. The game incorporates rhythm-based gameplay during concerts, challenging players to hit notes accurately and keep the crowd engaged. These sequences are well-designed, balancing accessibility for newcomers with enough complexity to satisfy rhythm game veterans. Successful performances boost your reputation and income, unlocking new venues and opportunities. The inclusion of live shows adds excitement and variety to the game’s pacing, breaking up the management and creative phases with moments of direct player skill. Visually, Rising Star 2 adopts a vibrant and stylized art style that complements its energetic and artistic themes. Character models and environments are colorful and expressive, capturing the atmosphere of different music scenes from underground clubs to large concert arenas. The UI is clean and intuitive, helping players navigate the various menus and systems without feeling overwhelmed. The soundtrack, composed of original tracks created within the game’s mechanics, showcases a range of genres and moods, enhancing the overall immersion and giving players a sense of pride in their musical creations. Despite its many strengths, Rising Star 2 does face some challenges. The complexity of its systems can lead to a steep learning curve, especially for players unfamiliar with music simulation games or management sims in general. Certain aspects, like the financial management and networking mechanics, may feel repetitive or overly time-consuming over longer play sessions. Additionally, while the rhythm gameplay is enjoyable, it may not appeal to players looking for a pure music game experience without management elements. However, these issues are relatively minor in the context of the game’s broad scope and ambition. In summary, Rising Star 2 is a thoughtfully crafted and multifaceted music simulation that successfully blends creativity, strategy, and rhythm gameplay into a cohesive and engaging package. Its detailed career progression, deep customization options, and immersive live performance mechanics offer a rewarding experience for players eager to experience the highs and lows of a musician’s journey. While it may require patience and dedication to master its systems fully, the game provides a unique and fulfilling perspective on the music industry, making it a standout title for fans of simulation and music games alike. I love this game. It's unique, with interesting minigames. Hard to get off the ground and rewarding once you do. Would love a digital age after selling CDs.
