Rogue Lords is a fun turn based roguelike game where we as the devil gather a team of famous villains (disciples) to get revenge. The combat starts simple enough but can get out of hand quickly if you don't pay attention to enemy abilities, buffs, debuffs, ... RNGesus can be quite helpful at times by granting us strong traits, relics early on, but it can also give us useless ones. The game isn't difficult if you know what you are doing, however some fights can last for quite and get tedious. Overall its good and I wish the devs could've added more disciples and another story campaign or expanded the existing one.

An excellent rogue-like. It's quite challenging, but it never felt unfair to me. The game does a lot to signpost what the outcomes of each battle and event will give you, without overwhelming you with information. With careful decision making, you should be able to complete each chapter in a few tries (although that's easier said than done). Would like to point out that the resource management and decision tree you face in each step of a run is well balanced. Limiting the number of your abilities, giving each a cool down, and then deciding when you can use your limited action points to refresh them creates a complicated scenario for each combat encounter. The inclusion of the "cheat" mechanic is novel. It allows you to sacrifice some of your meta-health to influence outcomes in your favor. It's a forgiving mechanic, allows for greater flexibility in your play, and makes sense in context of the narrative. Two quibbles. I find the traversal from node to node to be a bit tedious. It pads out a decent amount of time between your encounters, and considering that each chapter can take a few hours to complete, you really start feeling the drag of the downtime. Second, there's a few bugs I've encountered, thankfully not game breaking. Specifically, when I replace an ability with the Grim Reaper (the games in universe merchant) I more often than not get soft locked. Luckily, quitting out to the main menu and then continuing your run gets you back in without losing progress, but still a bit annoying to do. Check this out if you like rogue-likes, turn based RPGs, and a fair challenge.

nice game i like games like this with walking throug node grid, some interesting node selection and characteres are interesting enaugh, combat is decent less of rouglike, although there are unlocks between runs, but they wont make you stronger only more stuff is avaiable in pool of randomness :P Only impactful stuff being unlocked are new hereoes for you team it's fun better than expected actually

It's honestly so sad to see this masterpiece abandoned due to not being commercially well-received. The game needs updates to address some bugs, QOL, and balance, and to think it will never get it just because "capitalism" is so sad. Aside from the bugs and inconveniences, this game delivers a unique, well-conceptualized, entertaining experience for those who like turn-based combat. Currently, the game has its mistakes and is far from perfect, but if you like the genre and wanna try something different, I definitely recommend it. It will feed you some hours of entertainment for sure. I hope one day it receives the love it deserves.

Really nicely executed game. Doesn't do anything particularly add anything innovate to the genre but does everything well and most importantly for a roguelike provides a satisfying game play loop.
