A memorable scifi shooter combines tactical combat, stealth mechanics, and a well developed futuristic setting. The campaign moves through battle scarred landscapes filled with military strongholds, industrial facilities, and dangerous combat zones. Mission variety helps maintain momentum, while the narrative provides a clear purpose that keeps progression engaging throughout the adventure. Combat offers a satisfying balance between direct action and strategic planning. Weapons feel reliable, enemy encounters encourage experimentation, and battlefield tools create multiple ways to approach objectives. Stealth opportunities, explosive traps, reconnaissance abilities, and creative equipment usage add depth to engagements without making systems overly complex. Every mission provides room for different tactics based on terrain and enemy placement. Worldbuilding and atmosphere help create a distinctive identity. The bio chip system integrates story and gameplay in a meaningful way, adding useful support abilities while strengthening the connection to the campaign narrative. Strong level design, enjoyable combat mechanics, and a unique science fiction setting come together to create an entertaining action experience that remains engaging from the opening mission to the final objective.
A graphically enhanced and slightly updated version of a truly awesome game. I personally prefer the original version over this remake, mainly just because I like the charm and feel of the older graphics a bit more, but this is purely a personal taste thing and dosen't make this bad by any means. At the end of the day, I didn't really notice that much of a difference between this and the original, so I'll just give it a thumbs up, as the original was great, and this is just that again, so yeah, this is a pretty damn good time.
This is an adequate sale game. Coming out of 2006 it's definitely not the best of its time. However, there were some fun mechanics and it played pretty well. I spent most of my game launching infinite mines out of my backpack over 300 feet away and shooting people in the face or backpack causing them to panic and explode. The levels are varied, the weapons were okay, you never feel like you needed something you didn't have, and the fabrication of ammo and medical based on collected scrap was a neat touch. This game does suffer from somewhat poor writing, stupid enemy AI, and the one level where it wants you to climb and 'jump' to other areas has trouble allowing you to do just that. But the checkpoint system is well set up, so no big deal. Overall I'm glad to have played this one. And I know I'll never forget how much fun I had as mobile mine swarm delivery system.
