I played this game all throughout my childhood on the N64. This is my honest take on the game, I’ll give my experience with it and a pros/cons. For starters, this game is the original Windows 95 release of the game. It’s quite dated not greatly optimized for modern hardware. Specifically video and controls. Higher resolutions cause issues to the hud and cutscenes. Binding keys can be kinda annoying, but you’ll be fighting the camera quite a bit. I’ve played with both mouse and keyboard and ps4 controller with the community profile which is a must. The fps MUST be capped to 30. The game does still run at 60, but during Gall Spaceport and other missions you’ll be sliding off the edge, not to mention the Swoop Bike. If you struggled with that on N64 back then at 30fps then 60 will make you ask for a refund but by that time it’s too late. Turning the fps down to 25 can also help the sliding too with the slight cost of smoothness. The final Skyhook level also seems unplayable on Hard or Jedi difficulty, instantly killed when I spawn in and no chance to survive, the N64 version did not seem to be this difficult. Medium difficulty strongly recommended. Now onto the changes between the N64 version. A noticeable change from the N64 version and pc version is the pc has video cutscenes instead of the comic strip style. The other difference is the lacking main menu, the N64 had an amazing main menu/cutscene theme that was not included in the pc version (my biggest complaint). The audio tracks are also in higher quality and with a longer loop, during my second playthrough I swapped out them out for the N64 versions since they are slightly more nostalgic to me. The N64 version of the sewer level also has a slight more green tint to the screen. I play the game using a crt monitor, default resolution fits it perfect and looks better than my flat panel. Pros: -great story -great music -nightmare inducing boss battles -memorable missions and locations -memorable voice actors -feels like a massive overhaul upgrade to Dark Forces -different game styles; flying/driving, shooting, exploration -honestly probably a bit more but I can’t let the nostalgia blind me Cons: -controls/camera are a nightmare without proper binding -very basic ui startup page -lack of higher resolutions/framerate without breaking the game -plain boring menu, why not make it like the N64?! -game can crash on startup or inbetween missions/cutscenes -without extra files the game can be very unplayable or run poorly on modern systems In conclusion, I think it’s a great game and still worth it to pick up and play. If you’ve played it back in the day on N64 you will already know how amazing this game is and once you work out the kinks it holds up well. I watched 1 YouTube video on how to set it up and that was all I needed for it to run smoothly. The game has a perfect balance of trauma and nostalgia. I give this version a 7.5/10, doesn’t hold up as well compared to the N64. I hope a remaster comes along and fixes the issues. This game will always be canon to me. Don’t listen to all the negative reviews saying not to get it because how “unplayable” it is and how many things you need to do to get it to work. Download 1 program and edit 1 .conf file, it’s simple. Took me 10 minutes to get it all working and finished 3 playthroughs. Do or do not, there is no try. May the force be with you

It's a very good game with a thrilling story, almost like an actual good star wars movie. To play on modern hardware set your frame rate to 30 FPS to play it very smoothly. Just be careful and take your time on Gall Spaceport, the rocks are very slippery on a slope.

>>IMPORTANT NOTE<< If you're going to play this game. Play it at 20-25 FPS. It's an older game so that's what the game was intended for. Higher FPS will cause bugs and glitches. You'll be sliding around and sliding right off of cliffs. You'll even slide and float in air. During the Boba Fett boss when you have to fight his ship (Slave 1 not Firespray. That's a dumb change). His ship will be stuck in place in the air. Even when you bring the ship's health to 0. It will remain stuck in the air exploding and the game won't let you progress. Even if you try to die and continue, the ship will still be stuck in the air exploding and the game still won't let you progress. You'll have to exit the level and restart that level all over again. I must have done that level 3 or 4 times. >What I like< The game has good pacing. It doesn't over stay it's welcome on levels There's enough to make it interesting in it's simplistic game design. I was never lost and there's nothing in the levels that are overly complicated. I like the verity of play styles in the game. It starts with flying a snowspeeder. There's a level riding a speederbike. There's 2 levels that are on rail shooters on a ship. Then there is flying your ship. Then through most of the game you're on foot. >No Quick Saves< The PC version doesn't have quick saves during missions or at check points. That is something that would be very handy with the bugs and crashes I had. I had a game crash just before a boss fight so I had to do the same level all over again. Then there's the Slave 1 bug I mentioned earlier. >fluctuating Difficulty Problems< This is a game made in the 90s so I recommend playing this on easy mode. Back then easy mode is todays hard mode. I made the mistake playing this on medium. Be prepared for the final level. It's the biggest pile of BS. Your on rails being blasted every 3 seconds and there's nothing you can do about it so you'll die, die and die again at least 6 or 7 times during that on rails section. >Controller Problems< Another problem is that is was a product of its time. You'll be fighting the controls. I can understand the control scheme on the N64 but the PC version should have been given better treatment. You can't customize your controls like you can todays games. You can only replace keys with a specific catagory. Meaning if an action requires pressing a key. You can only replace it with a another key. You can't replace that key with a mouse button. I also don't get why there isn't an easier way to aim on the PC version? That was a problem solved for PC games already, even back then, so I don't get why the aim controls weren't fixed or adjusted for PC? I have to stand in place and hold a key while I move my mouse with forced inverted camera movement. I should try again on an easier difficulty. My first playthrough on medium with the bugs, glitches, and crashes did sour my experience a little bit. I can see why people liked it back in the day for its time.

Dude, i'm a 03 zoomer but i made it trough the IG88 bossfight on first try while playing on medium. People are exaggerating how hard this is. Everything works fine and unless you're really REALLY inpatient you'll quickly learn how to play it well.

The game where every level is a different genre and none of them work perfectly. It’s like playing a fever dream of every Star Wars toy that was made in the late 90s including the most dramatic shoulder pads in the galaxy.
