The very second game of this genre for me, that being a mixture of RPG x Visual Novel genres, with something extra. I didn't expect much, as most of such videogames are there for the artworks and .. Yeah, the stuff that's cut unless applying the restoration patch. The story is fairly simple, but delivered decently enough to become of an entertainment. Y'know, I would've expected a bit more the moment I hear or see the terms samurai or shinobi being thrown around, but it does deliver.. There's some fixation on providing insights from many characters' POVs, so that's a good thing; However, I have yet to come across the brief or rather a general structuration of the story, and that's unfortunate. I get what are the characters going through and on, but I have to interpret for myself the way an ordinary citizen perceives things.. And while the player can choose to interact with the non-playable characters, they don't really say much of a relevant stuff, if any at all. Speaking of facing the past, that's for the character development. Many characters do have a rather fixated personality that's changing somewhat dramatically by how the player interacts with the world, although it's to be noted that those are strictly tied to specific encounters rather than deciding or changing the characters' personalities in general kinda sense. As for the art - Whether we're talking about music or artworks.. They are good, all of them. The music does many times feel much more unique than the standarized instrumentals that many of those videogames end up with, so that was a nice touch that I've perceived rather positively. When it comes to the artworks, the art style is more than appealing, but at the same time does offer only one type of the same artwork, meaning from a fixated angle rather than many. That's OK, but nothing to write a book about. The combat and combat system aren't explained into a detail at all, this is all up to the player to figure out. Figure out which enemies are demons, ogres, onis, humans, and such is quite a mess up for me. It takes trial & error to get the results, which I'm not a fan of; The turn-based combat system doesn't provide an estimatee of dealt damage, nor does it help in deciding whether it's time to attack with a sword or with a specific skill for extra damage; Defending's proven to be useless more often than not, too, and that's quite a bummer. Anyway, Some deepened lore or interactions aside, as well as combat aside.. The game does deliver decently. It's nothing special or something that I'd suggest to everyone, but it might just well scratch that itch for the many when it comes to this genre. It will definitely shine over the rest, at least I do believe so. I suppose, that does it for the review for the time being. As of now, I've finished about half of the game or slightly more than half of the game if we're talking about route completions. Enjoy!

Wait what's that word again? Vandalize? I don't know what that means but it sounds cool, from now on we are the Samurai Vandalism! Story is so dumb that I love it. Every cliché that you can think of is probably in this story.
