I'm trying to save money so I've been more careful with my game purchases lately. I try to remain aware of the 2h refund window so I don't get stuck with a game I dislike (happened before). I fired up Sandustry with this in mind, telling myself I'd assess how much I was enjoying it before the 2h were up. My first session lasted 8 hours. Yeah, I think I like it.

I'm not too far into the game, but the first 3 hours sure flew by quickly! This is a quirky little automation game that provides a set of novel problems to solve due to the physics-focused playground it offers. For example, I was running out of water to run my contraptions so I had to heat up an underground reservoir to create steam. This steam would float off into the atmosphere to then rain down into the lake I was working in, filling it back up so I could continue sifting gold from sand. I wasn't prepared for the rain to soak my machinary, clogging up the system and cooling down the burners. This led to me having to funnel the steam away from the main lake, creating a rain catcher that would then drain it back in. I like it a lot :)

Its like if terraria had a child with creative mode minecraft but both of them died in a car accident and all the responsibilty got shifted onto a uncle factorio that simply decides to raise it in a way he was raised but diffrencess allow for vastly diffrent experience Always liked the idea of factorio but the managment of all the things made me always quit at one point (mostly oil) This game allows the player to do the biggest spaggetti on earth that still works while also letting a player slowly unlock tools that make them WANT to fix that spaggetti and it doesn't seem overwhelming at all as in the end it will work nontheless. Don't know how modding scene will look but considering the group of players that is into technical side games is pretty tech savy and we already got workshop i can only imagine the insanity that may come in few months.
