Really satisfying and surprisingly relaxing. Scrapping old ships, salvagingparts, and upgrading your gear is addictive, and there's something oddly satisfying about tearing a huge ship apart piece by peice. The gameplay can get repetitive, but if you enjoy chill, hands-on simulation games, this is definitely worth trying
A nice little grinding and cutting game for taking apart ships. If you just want something to sit an click, this is a good option. the base game has a lot of content to make it challenging, but not so difficult that you would lose interest. co-op play is ok, there is a Sync issue where if I have started a ship and a friend joins. they see parts that you have already removed. they don't exist to the other user, but it can make it difficult as it will block views and cause them to fall through floors that look like they are there but not. Still fun to play co-op. Just start the ship together.
This game was a pleasant surprise. I played the original Ship Graveyard Simulator, and I liked it. It wasn't ground breaking or anything. Just a cool little game to pass the time with, and it actually became one of the few games where I have unlocked all achievements. I bought Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 expecting more of the same. In fact, I didn't think I'd get through the game if the dynamics were the same as the original, so I only purcahsed the bas copy. I very quickly learned that this was a very different game. Instead of just destroying stuff on the ship, which got very repetitive after a while, you're actually dismantling the ships here. Plus, the different ships seem to all have a lot of character. I typically don't like sequels because by the time I get to a sequel, the basic gameplay functions are repetitive, but that's not the case here. This game is far superior than its predecessor. I'm about halfway through the ships. I'm not sure if I'll make it all the way through, but I've gotten far more enjoyment and playtime out of this than I thought I would.
This is a pretty fun game overall, technical issues aside. It's an enjoyable and time-consuming game, where you take apart ships, gather resources, fulfill contracts relating to each ship, and buy upgrades for your tools and your house. The technical issues are pretty considerable though. The game tends to get overwhelmed when you have a lot going on, and will freeze or crash on certain ships pretty easily. The physics of the ship parts are also somewhat janky; while it tries to keep realistic physics from breaking out certain parts, a lot of the bigger ships especially will have problems with floating pieces, or pieces that aren't connected to anything but still break apart other parts of the ship when destroyed. That all being said, you can see my playtime on this. I also grabbed some of the DLCs for more ships to work on. I feel I got my money's worth on this game, though waiting for a decent sale is probably a good idea.
