This is the 'Lite' or censored version. Most of Rabiane's death portraits are replaced with a picture of her lying on her back with a few blood splatters and an expression similar to the one you already see on the game's thumbnail or cover. Some of the more brutal deaths have also been swapped with Rabiane simply collapsing. The R18+ stuff are cut out. This includes two more elaborate scenarios in Abandoned Village and Kessaria Cathedral where you get captured, but can still continue under unique circumstances. However here in the censored version you just get a game over and restart. That being said, some suggestive stuff are still left in. One example is that the tendrils from the flowers in Tree of Peace are still sucking on Rabiane's chest. More importantly, the Lite version excludes two extra stages (Laboratory, Animal Farm). Not only do they offer the game's hardest challenges, they have very unique scenes. The 'White' costume for Rabiane is excluded too , which comes with a complete alternate set of sprites and portraits of her in said costume. Lastly, you also don't get the 'Reminiscence' option in the level select, which is a gallery mode where you can view all the animations and portraits. If you want all of that, get the full uncensored version on DLsite. You can buy the Lite version if you don't want or aren't sure if you want to see the explicit content, but still want to try the game beyond just the demo. Then later down the road you can buy the patch from the developer available on DLsite that will let you add back the above if you change your mind. Doing it this way will cost you a little more (though still around the same) as if you had bought the full uncensored version to begin with. --- The game's art style is excellently made, whether its the enemies or the environment. The soundtrack, while not anything I would go out of my way to listen to on its own, fits perfectly with the aesthetic. And Rabiane's voice actress did her job well, about what you would expect. As far as gameplay goes, SiNiSistar does not get more complicated than something like an old game for the NES. The demo already shows you all the mechanics you have to work with for the entire game: a single jump, a basic melee attack, shooting a limited amount of arrows, and mashing buttons to break free from enemy grabs. It's solid, but very simple. And that's fine for this game's intended audience. The difficulty is easy and fair as long as you're observant and have a basic survival instinct; i.e don't just recklessly run up towards every new enemy you see. Do hit and runs, and you'll quickly learn how the enemies work. All of the enemies and bosses telegraph their attacks before they do them, have easily recognizable, repeating patterns, and have very little (if any) randomization. Stage hazards also have appropriate warnings. The flowers in Tree of Peace are dangerous? The first flower you see has a skull next to it, and you're too far to be hit by the first time it does its attack even if you book it. One part of the Abandoned Village has hidden traps in the floor? If the nooses in the background didn't clue you in, there's also a villager crouched down examining one of the two obvious spots where the traps are. You may die a few times, but none of the deaths should feel like it wasn't your fault. Nothing here will leave you stuck. You have unlimited lives, and you restart in the same room you die in—none of which are long either. Arcing your shots and farming arrows is as complicated as the game gets... in the Lite version. In the full version, two of the Animal Farm's boss' weak points are tricky to get to. And area 4 of Laboratory (the room where acid is dripping from above) is the most difficult room. But still nothing too bad. --- Worried about the gore specifically? Most of the time, you can tell if an enemy will lead you to a gory death by checking if they're carrying a knife. The exceptions that still lead to a gory death are: - Zombies - The walking ivy monsters in Tree of Peace - Falling into a spider web in Tunnel - The big guys in the first area of Kessaria Cathedral - Acid dripping from the ceiling Want to know a bit more of the gore and other grotesque stuff because you're unsure? First off, spiders—for those with arachnophobia. The third level is centered around them. There are giant spiders, but even the 'small' spiders are bigger than your face. In Lite, the most gory death there is is by the ivy monsters in Tree of Peace. The portrait is the same as in the uncensored version. Imagine a Piranha Plant from Super Mario or the Chomper plant from Plants vs. Zombies, engulfing Rabiane's entire head with blood dripping through the gaps. In the uncensored version, the worst the gore gets are the acid, and various stabbing/butchering deaths. The latter are self-explanatory. The acid death, found in Laboratory, takes my personal pick as the worst. Rabiane's skin, especially around her eyes, is melted off. So you see all the flesh and tissue underneath, and gaping holes where her eyeballs should be. Here's a non-comprehensive list of the kind of... 'tags' you would get without being too specific on how and where: soft and hard vore, quicksand, getting sucked dry, flora/fungi growing out of you, spiders, tentacles, slugs, body invasion or creature inside, progressive brainwashing, decapitation, crushed, stabbed, hanging, assimilation, breast expansion, getting 'headcrabbed', giving birth to things not human, yuri, etc. --- This game is not for everyone, just by the themes alone. But it's clear that a lot of effort went into making this. The gameplay, while not deep, is competently made and offers a comfy challenge. The aesthetics are genuinely great—something I think everyone can at least agree on. Even if you don't like the game or the R18+ stuff, it's hard to deny the quality of the visual art style. Whether or not you find the erotic aspects appealing is entirely up to you. You can totally play this as you simply trying to help the main protagonist make it out of this nightmarish hellscape alive and as 'clean' as possible. And if that's what only interests you, then you can stick to just the Lite version. Either way, you don't have to like everything being depicted to enjoy it—I myself don't like the gore. Also, there is a second game, which I think is incredible. But it's not here yet on Steam, though planned to be.
