As someone who spent countless hours on Skate 3, I can honestly say it feels amazing to finally have a new Skate game again. I’ve been waiting years for this moment, and even though SKATE is still in early access, I’m already hooked. The gameplay captures that classic Skate feel that made me fall in love with the series in the first place — the controls are responsive, the skating is smooth, and it still has that grounded, realistic vibe. At the same time, there’s a touch more of an arcade style sprinkled in here and there, giving it a little bit of that Tony Hawk energy without losing the essence of what made Skate so special. It’s a really fun mix that makes every session exciting. Yes, there are some rough edges right now. The login queue can be 15–20 minutes at times, and there are a few bugs that pop up, but honestly, I don’t mind. This is early access, and the devs are clearly working on it. Every time I get in, it’s worth the wait, and I can see the potential for this game to become something truly great as updates roll out. What matters most is the feeling of skating — and they nailed it. Landing a trick feels just as satisfying as it did back in Skate 3. Exploring, experimenting, and stringing together lines keeps me smiling the whole time. Overall, I’m just happy we finally have a new Skate game. It’s been far too long, and this is exactly what I hoped for: a modern Skate that respects its roots while trying some new ideas. I’m looking forward to seeing how the game evolves, but right now I can already tell this is going to be a staple in my library for a long time. If you’re a fan of the Skate series, or even just skateboarding games in general, this is absolutely worth jumping into — bugs, queues, and all.

Took me less than 10 minutes to find a funny bug, 10/10 recommend, definitely an EA skate game On a serious note though: I love the game personally. It's got a good feel of older skate games, but also new features. For an early access build, it is very stable running on my system. (Ryzen 5 3600x, RTX 2080, 16 gigs RAM, installed on SSD). There are some things that could use some work, the road textures mainly, but actual GAMEPLAY is, in my honest opinion, amazing.

It's really not as bad as everyone says it is. It may not have the gritty feeling that old skates do but I blame that mostly on how skate culture has been privatized over the past decade. If you like skate and don't mind a sort of open ended MMO feeling to the progression, you'll enjoy it.
