Hate to say it, but as a CoD Zombie vet, this game is super well made and dare I say, what CoD zombies SHOULD had been if Blizzard/Activisions devs had braincells. The complexity of the maps, movement, upgrades, weapons, enemies, boss fights, Easter Eggs. Top fuckin notch.

Okay, so let's get this straight: This is everything the player wanted COD Zombies to be, but never was... This is our wet dream of a zombies game, sort of. First things first is that the game has a severe lack of weaponry, I believe about 10~ weapons total! And nobody counts the melee ones, though it is neat that you can Pack-a-punch an axe or a baseball bat (haha)! But from the weapons they do have, they are either remakes or duplicates of the same guns from COD, such as the Wunderwaffe which has been named "Thunderbolt." One last thing is that they do offer weapon skins, but all the skins are the same for each weapon(s), requiring an absurd amount of XP to unlock each tier. Gameplay: I would say it's very clear-cut and awesome that the "Easter Eggs" actually have a "quest marker" indicating what to do, or where to go, requiring little or no research at all to complete. The EGs are the main part of the story in this game, which requires you to fight all the EG bosses to get a token to then unlock a new weapon, which of course also unlocks character cosmetics and depending the difficulty the rewards change. It's fun, it's entertaining, it's almost like a rogue-lite for how easy it is to get lost in time with this game. I reached an easy round 89 on my first game ever on Nightmare difficulty, and it was very satisfying, it felt like clearing waves of zombies in BO1 or W@W. It also lets you change the "difficulty" (Nightmare -> Easy) before Round 10 incase you want to increase or decrease the difficulty while the game is still live! That's awesome IMO. Consmetics are definitely lacking in general - personally I would absolutely pay a few extra $ to get some exclusive weapon skins or limited time event skins, etc. But as of right now those are not a thing, I believe, which sucks. But hopefully in a future update! Anyway I would give this Zombies imitation a 8/10 and I'm a tough critic. Enjoy!

Pros: +Great low budget and low size CoD Zombies alternative +Easter eggs less cryptic than CoD Zombies and are fun to do Solo +Unique, roguelike-esque upgrade mechanics that allow for more intricate specializations and build crafting than CoD Zombies does +Cool steampunk aesthetic on the upgraded guns, which is dynamic and changes with successive upgrades, which I vastly prefer over modern CoD Zombies just slapping seizure inducing clown vomit textures on them Cons: -Also sadly FEELS low budget, Animation, Sounds, hit feedback etc. all feel pretty bad -Netcode is poopoo -Incredibly spongy enemies on higher rounds -No points per hit, making it incredibly difficult to make money on high rounds due to previously mentioned spongy enemies -Balancing issues Verdict: Great for the price tag, game gets regularly updated with free(!) new content and has no gameplay content locked behind DLC, which blows CoD's monetization, which required to buy an entire Map bundle with multiplayer maps you likely don't care about, out of the water. This game has amazing potential. However, there are a lot of things here and there that are in dire need of improvement, whether during this game's update cycle, or a potential sequel. I hope the developers realize- and take advantage of this potential and strive to improve and fix these problems in the future. If they do, Sker Ritual (or Sker Ritual 2) has a genuine chance at becoming some actual serious competition for Call of Duty. But there's still ways to go. I recommend to start some surveys and listen to player feedback and address common complaints. I'd hate to see this incredible potential squandered and just end with this "okay-ish" game.

This game came out during a drought for cod zombies. This is a great alternative to cod zombies during dead periods or when you don't want to pay $70 just to play zombies (Justified). As a primarily easter egg player in cod zombies, I was suprised by the main easter eggs in this game. While the beginning is guided, the hardcore part feels like a puzzle that can be solved without a guide most of the time. You even get a in game reward every match for beating the first four hardcore quests. I have not done the additional maps and cannot comment on them. This personally sold me on the game and has even lead me to doing casual speed runs of some of the maps. The miracle system is also a great idea allowing people to make builds in what is in my opinion a better system then BO6 augments. It does contain a version of cold war crystal upgrades but these serve as an excellent form of progression between matches. The free battle passes award free cosmetics allowing free to play players to look cool and have the option to buy better ones if they would like. High rounds are quite simple when you understand them, having multiple enemy types as well as the maps boss. The maps I have played have great areas for training which is how I like to play and I have made it past round 50 multiple times and found it fun every time. Overall, this is one of my favorite games of 2024 and helped preserve interest in the community until BO6. For that I am grateful to the developers for doing all they can for this game despite the small team. I hope they continue to add content to this game in the future.

I'm not even sure what to say here. I've never really cared for COD zombies, haven't bothered playing any of them except for the few times the boys asked me to hop on back in the day on Xbox (World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops 2). So it really fucking surprised me that I've put 15 hours into this game, beaten all maps on Normal, done most on Hard, and even done one solo on Nightmare. It's a lot of fun, which, again, surprised me to no end. It's janky, it's wonky, but it's endlessly charming in my opinion. For a small studio, this game is pretty great. The business model is also great, all new maps and weapons are free content drops, only cosmetic packs are sold as DLC. I bought it full price and I haven't regretted it. Do I recommend it? Hard to say, some people might be put off by the jank, and some people might not care about the whole COD-zombies-like formula (which I don't, for the most part). All in all, a solid 7.5/10 I guess. Really fun. Edit: Having now beaten all base levels solo on all difficulties (including the Nightmare EE's on them), all I have to say is G fucking G, this game is fantastic.
