After completing all achievements for the game and 100%ing it, I still think that Slay The Princess is a unique, well written experience, that made me emotional at times and is worth recommending. However, I want to talk about 2 flaws this game has, because I would not recommend this game to someone else without telling them this: The first flaw of the game is that the endings are the weakest part of the game. They lack in variance and also fail to extract a clear message out of the game (if it has one), even if you 100% it like me. Now don't get me wrong, they are still reasonable in the context of the game, but do not fulfill their purpose as a satisfying reward after the climax, but rather a short wrap up before you continue. For that reason, I found myself a bit disappointed when I completed the game. In retrospect, I think this game is at its strongest the LESS you play it. This makes sense for many games, but especially applies to Slay The Princess, as I strongly believe most of the enjoyment to lie in each of the individual paths and how your choices alter them, rather than the conclusion at the end. If I were to recommend Slay The Princess, I will have to add to my recommendation, that this game is not a completionist venture. Play this game only for as long as there are choices that reflect you or intrigue you, do not bother to get every ending or every path, unless that's truly what you want/enjoy. I personally do not regret it, but I also feel exhausted after grinding all of them, mainly because it felt more chore like, rather than fun, because I neither like repeating dialogue for the hundreth time, nor do I particularly enjoy the choices I had to make, which stand opposite to my natural choices and led to outcomes I did not like. To conclude my comment on the flaws: Only play this game for as long as you want and feel free to quit at any moment. 9/10 A great game, where the journey is truly more important and enjoyable than the destination.
