Played it a few hours, 10 years apart due to my old laptop taken on vacation. It passes the 4 beers an hour break even point. Certainly worth a playthough if it's in discount. You'll finish it quickly, and is unique as a game that you'll remember it years down the line. Is it something you'll restart regularly? NO!
I don’t usually write reviews, but Solar 2 deserves one. This game is honestly incredible in a way that’s hard to explain until you actually play it. You start as a tiny drifting rock… and somehow end up becoming an entire solar system, a star, and eventually something even bigger. It’s not just progression. it feels like evolution! What makes it special isn’t flashy graphics or some huge story. It’s the freedom. You can build a peaceful system with planets orbiting perfectly, grow life, and just vibe… or you can turn your planets into weapons and absolutely wreck other systems. Both feel equally natural, and the game never forces you into one path. There’s something weirdly relaxing about it too. The music, the minimal visuals, the way everything moves. It puts you in this calm, almost meditative state. Then out of nowhere, chaos happens and you’re swinging moons into enemies like a gravitational wrecking ball. That’s really what makes Solar 2 stand out: it creates moments instead of scripting them. You’re not following a story... you’re making your own every time you play. Yeah, some missions can be a little frustrating, and eventually you’ll see most of what the game has to offer. But that almost doesn’t matter. It’s one of those games you come back to just to exist in for a while. It’s simple, creative, relaxing, chaotic, and honestly kind of beautiful. If you’re even slightly curious, just try it. It’s one of those rare games that feels completely unique.
