Spin Hero is an interesting take on the slot-machine roguelike formula, drawing clear inspiration from games like Luck Be a Landlord. While the presentation and structure outside of gameplay feel somewhat generic - following familiar roguelike conventions such as branching paths and standard progression systems - the core mechanics do enough to set it apart. The moment-to-moment gameplay is where Spin Hero really shines. I enjoy the combat and the process of shaping my deck around the items I pick up during a run. Because the loot system encourages variety, no two runs feel quite the same, and I often find myself experimenting with different builds rather than defaulting to a single optimal strategy. This constant build-crafting keeps the game engaging even after multiple playthroughs. The difficulty is generally well-balanced, offering a solid range of challenges and modifiers that keep runs interesting. That said, one of my biggest gripes is that mini-bosses and bosses tend to boil down to simple DPS checks, with only some minor emphasis on unique mechanics or strategic variation. While this does not ruin the experience, it does make some of the game’s climactic encounters feel less exciting than they could be. Despite this shortcoming, Spin Hero still has strong replay value. The depth of build experimentation combined with the variety of available heroes provides plenty of incentive to keep coming back for more runs.

If youre not expecting anything more of what you can see in the 42 sec video at the steam store and in a mood to not have to put in much cognitive energy and rather spin the slots and be zombie mode gaming a lazy evening yourself then yeah what you see is what you get. Passed some time with it few times myslef. Altho its not much content and its way unbalanced with between the classes and their trait/abilities. When the game just had released i thougt to just give it some time to update stuff and balance it out alittle, altho just played it again recently afte a years passed and sadly nothings changed since... Ill explain with a sentence reall, 1 class is auto-win, another 1 has atleast somthing wich could work 1 of 10 runs and the other 3 classes couldnt do it together in a 100 tries so if youre not having any expectaitons above that ye its cheap try it with a beer or 6-7 probably works even better =) hope you got a good picture from this review what to expect and decite if its for you or not, gl.

I have finished this with all heroes and all difficulties and it stuck with me. I really loved playing it. What I wish was that it didn’t go dormant and that it was updated with new classes, weapons etc. It’s a massively easy game to learn, but it’s not easy to master
