Yes, it's not LucasArts best work, but if you enjoyed Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2 it's a good way to add 14 missions to that game which will make a total of 35 missions. It's not a great expansion but i recomend it. It makes the game longer.

Solid, classic 90s Star Wars FPS. Vast, interesting levels, and lots of stormtroopers to blast. Great, classic Star Wars score -- great pieces from TESB are featured here. Also, a good, emotional story. One of my top 20 favorite PC games of all time.

Back then, DLCs were called add-ons, expansions that told their own story and supplemented the main game. Since Dark Forces 2 Jedi Knight was so successful at the time, LucasArts released an add-on afterward. With a rather disjointed story. In the first four levels, you play as the familiar Kyle Katarn, who must repel an Imperial attack and infiltrate the enemy base on an asteroid. From the fifth mission onward, you play as Mara Jade, known from Timothy Zahn's Legends stories, who became Kyle Katarn's apprentice. This is where the game starts to get rather confusing, as the Mara Jade missions are narratively unrelated and each is its own short campaign, which is the crux of this expansion. The secrets of the Sith are only important at the beginning and end of the game; otherwise, you blast your way through the very confusing levels and various hordes of enemies—Nohgri warriors, Weequays, and other Star Wars aliens—using familiar weapons. The final levels, in particular, are so frustrating that you need a lot of patience to play them, as all weapons except the lightsaber become completely unusable. Graphically, the game's lighting is quite impressive, and there are a few new features here and there, but story-wise, the add-on is rather weak. Nevertheless, you can still spend a few hours with it, and it does get quite scary towards the end.

Mysteries of the Sith is a type of game that went extinct. Not quite a sequel, it was an full-box 'expansion' for Jedi Knight that continues the story of the first game. Built using the same engine and utilizing much of the first game's assets, Mysteries of the Sith introduces just enough new weapons, force powers, enemies and mechanics to make it feel new. Although the live-action cinematics are gone, they did implement simplistic in-engine cutscenes and updated the graphics with colored-lighting. While the campaign is just OK, its hard to ignore the importance this expansion served for the thriving modding community at the time. With the new tools found within MotS, fans were able to create their own full-sized expansions complete with voice acted cutscenes. May require some additional tweaking to play on modern systems. I recommend playing Dark Forces 2 first.

I'm frankly astounded by how much fun and relevant this game still is in 2025. I credit the level and atmosphere design, the epic OpenJKDF2 reimplementation, and the remaster pack with installer. All of this together adds up to a really joyful experience.
