Incredible game just like it was on the N64. Most likely anybody that plays this is an older fella that wants the nostalgia, and it's worth it all the way. I played on Mouse & Keyboard, and I thought it was fine with the controls honestly, but I do see a lot of folks saying otherwise.

Plays well on Steam Deck despite being listed as unsupported currently. Running in GE-Proton8-27. Controls map pretty well by default to Joystick settings, and you can easily navigate the menus using the touch screen controls. Good stuff. There's a bug in this PC version where your ship can veer off and leave the camera behind, but you can easily rectify this by cycling through the different camera angles (pushing start on the Steam Deck).

I remember having much trouble trying to run this game before, but this Steam version runs awesome on my Linux PC with perfect controller support! I've re-done the keybindings to fit me and it's fantastic. One of my favorite games from my childhood, I'm over the clouds having it on Steam!! Thank you!! :) About the game: - visuals are obviously outdated, maps are of limited size, etc., but enjoyable - the gameplay itself is surprisingly fun, even now in 2025 - definitely slaps one in the face with "old game design" of not being forgiving and actually requiring skill to complete the maps - missions can be replayed with different spaceship, including the Naboo fighter, it's great fun! Tips: - if you get stuck on the Hoth map, don't be ashamed of looking up a walk-through video on YouTube - it's a very difficult map, and I'm not even sure it can be done naively just following the "natural order" of objectives! - don't save up the X-Wing missiles, make use of them! - when swarms of enemies come, avoid facing them head-on, but rather get them from behind - in later maps, interceptors may specifically chase you and can out-maneouver your X-Wing, unless you close your wings for high speed to leave them behind; that helps greatly - on the map about the train, you simply need to stun all parts of the train with the ion-cannon of your X-Wing, that's it -- I'm speaking English well, but took me some time to realize this May the force be with you on your missions!

This was the first star wars game I ever played, my father introduced it to me when I was a kid and its always been one of my favorite games of all time. I used to fly around mos Eisley destroying all the buildings and homesteads like a little psycho lol

For anyone who played this game back in the day, it totally holds up! I've been obsessed for 10+ hours of gameplay and have no intention of stopping soon. Replayability is fairly high as you try to improve your performance for each mission and get higher medals. But anyone for whom nostalgia is not a factor might find this game a bit frustrating because of its high degree of difficulty, limited lives for each mission, and outdated graphics.
