While this is a life sim-RPG hybrid type of game, it really just gives me AdVenture Capitalist vibes, because the game gets you addicted to seeing numbers go up. By the end of the game, your net worth is absolutely obscene and that really is the goal in order to achieve a lot of things in the game. There are clicker mini-game parts, so perhaps the dev did have AdVenture Capitalist in mind? There’s definitely a reference to Cookie Clicker. Info • No character customization. Binary choice of gender. That is it. • Space Blasters arcade mini-game, which is a reference to Space Invaders. Spaceships move about, and your ship needs to go pew-pew-pew at them without getting hit itself. Wave after wave until Game Over. • Super Mario-like mini-game. A couple of times you go into the sewer and it is stylized like Super Mario. Platforming while avoiding enemies and falling to one’s doom. Treasure chest at the end. • As mentioned above, Cookie Clicker reference mini-game. Not much to it other than clicking. (I have no idea what the real game is like; never played it.) • Carnival booth darts mini-game. Throw darts at balloons, targets, and golden ducks to rack up tickets to earn prizes at a fair. (This was my favorite, as it has the right amount of challenge to it.) • Hi-Lo (High Low) card mini-game at various casinos. It’s just as simple as the actual card game. (Too simple, thus, it gets boring quickly.) • Team betting mini-game. Also super simple and boring. Pick a team between two choices. Thus, you have a 50% chance of picking the right one. You win and lose a bunch. There’s no skill to it, just totally random chance. • Controller is only good for moving the character around and interacting with objects. Navigating menus and playing mini-games requires mouse. Praises • Countless American pop culture references. Some more likable than others. • Truthful representation of American society/economy and its hellscape of unchecked, ruthless capitalism. Jabs at both Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Mockery of Mark Zuckerberg. What was funny and not funny at the same time was how at every teaching job, its pay is significantly less than it should be, and less skillful/essential/important jobs pay more. That is very real here in the US and it is disgusting. Got a doctorate? That’s nice, but what’ll really get you rich is becoming a drug dealer (joking, weapons are definitely what the richest people are selling). • There are a few instances where you get to punch (awful) people in the face. • Watching numbers go up is addicting. (Is this why rich people get so pissy when they lose even just a tiny fraction of their money? Seeing the number go down makes the dopamine go away?) • You can adopt a dog. • You can rescue a cat for a quest, then feed said cat by visiting his residence. • A cat reality? Uh, not sure how to explain. It’s a place you get teleported to where cats rule the world. Best place in the game, of course. Complaints • The game was released in 2019, so perhaps the dev wasn’t enlightened enough or too cowardly to include a non-binary gender option, but not having any skin tone options is just ridiculous. A darker-skinned person playing this game is forced to play as light-skinned, like Western society isn’t already catered to white people. • Can’t change keybindings. Thankfully, there is some controller support. I’m left-handed, so that would’ve really been annoying otherwise. • Too many secrets and hidden things. If it weren’t for the wiki and Steam guides, I wouldn’t have ever even came across the vast majority of the stuff that’s hidden in the game because you have to do such obscure things to find them. • Timer doesn’t stop with main menu open. So, if real life is interfering with one’s gaming time, too bad, no way to pause the timer. I hate timed sh!t to begin with. • Cops busting drug dealing. Dude, I’m just going to load the save file, so this is just more pointless tedium. • The playthroughs are a bit too long, repetitive, and tedious for me to want to do ten of them, which there is an achievement for. It’s okay. There is some fun to be had, so it isn’t a negative review, but I feel like it could be balanced a lot better so it’s less tedious/repetitive. Definitely needs more character customization. I recommend it on sale if you’re into this sort of game.

If you are here looking for a Stick RPG 2 style game, this scratches the itch, but only a little bit. Unfortunately, it is not nearly as fun as the SRPG2, which has occasional combat to break up the gameplay, amazing stylized art and music. It is an ok life rpg type game, the art and music is boring and I just had to stop playing after it just felt like I was walking between two areas and clicking a box a million times. Way too grindy for my taste, it's alright for what it is though.

It's a lot like that oldschool stickman RPG from back in the good old Win XP times.. but with better graphics. Yep, get this.
