Supraland genuinely surprised me. I did not expect much from it and ended up liking it far more than I thought I would. Exploration is clearly the main focus here. There is something hidden in almost every nook and cranny. Easter eggs, memes, funny little stories, upgrades and secrets everywhere. Some secrets contain other secrets, which lead to even more secrets. Basically secret-ception. The further you progress, the more tools you unlock and the more paths open up. Every new ability made me think of three places I wanted to revisit because there was probably another secret hidden there. The controls feel great and the abilities have just the right amount of chunkiness to them. I also appreciate that the game is not obsessed with invisible walls. If you are stubborn enough, there is a decent chance you can solve a puzzle in a way the developer never intended. I am fairly certain I bypassed at least a few puzzles through a combination of determination and questionable engineering. Most puzzles are clever and well designed, but there were a handful that completely defeated me. Those had me staring at the screen wondering whether I was supposed to have a degree in puzzle solving. Eventually I gave up and looked up the solution, only to discover there was absolutely no chance I was ever going to figure that out on my own. The story that guides you through this giant puzzle maze is not too bad either. The level design is incredibly clever and the world building is top notch.

This whole game is a loop of 1. i'm too stupid to do this. 2. go to sleep. 3. it was that simple, how did i not think of it earlier. A bit too much of backtracking to get everything imo but part of is is on me for going back to do the puzzle i knew, and then coming back with another new ability, and then coming back with another ability etc.. instead of waiting to the end to redo them

Great game. If you liked PS1 games which had great puzzles and gameplay, this one is for you. And the game just keeps giving.. Great sense of humor from developers too. Strongly recommend!

The level and puzzle design is infinitely clever in this game. The developer never lets an opportunity for smart design pass by unchecked.
