Syberia II is a good continuation of the first game, with the same beautiful atmosphere, memorable locations, and melancholy tone. The story feels a bit less grounded and some puzzles are more frustrating than clever, but the journey still has a lot of charm. Not quite as special as the first for me, but still very worth playing. 8/10
What a great game, so nostalgic, throws me back to childhood and to playing it with my dad and friends. The story is so sweet, the youki is soooo cuuute, the ending is beautiful, and the puzzles are fun though sometimes frustrating lol. Not a fan of the magic and spells and all that, but it was such a small part of the game that it was easy to look past. This is probably my favorite game of the series. Also not sure why her past employer was so obsessed with her? I mean even if she was the best employee ever still kind of creepy. I’ll definitely be walking through it again at some point. I loved the throwback to the very start of the game too, it was nice to experience.
The first half is a blast to play, but sadly the game gets more frustrating in the second half. The villain is way better and more memorable than in the first game, but sadly the locations suffer, as outside of the first area, none of the rest are any more memorable than the locations in the first game. 6/10
