It's absolutely clear that a lot of love and work went into the look and feel of this game. The design of the characters and the environments are all amazing, the animation is top notch, and the music really hits + fits perfectly to the atmosphere the whole game exudes. The gameplay also just feels very clean and satisfying to interact with. Besides that, the dialogue itself also is well written and can be really funny (while perhaps for me personally a bit too much yappies at times). With all this I think this game had a wonderful foundation to be a great detective mystery game. Unfortunately, the "mystery" is where for me some of the game's cracks started to show. Most of the puzzles and deductions felt a little too easy and there was a bit too much hand-holding overall. While I still had a lot of fun theorizing and figuring out what happened throughout the game, it felt quite unsatisfying that when it came to the actual "solving" part, the answers ended up being quite obvious a lot of the time. The ending also felt rushed and was perhaps the weakest part of the whole game. Motivation felt a bit vague, certain hints ended up leading to nothing, and a lot of important questions were completely unanswered. So when the credits started rolling I was left with a feeling of underwhelm, confusion, and as if i just completely missed something. While it ended up being hard for me to actually recommend the game, I do ultimately think it is worth playing just to appreciate the creative labour that went into it! And I would still be excited for any potential sequel :D

Interesting game. It has no real difficulty as the mini games are logical and even if you struggle, mildly brute forcing them is possible. The investigation and hypothesis confirmation parts are also quite straight forward. The graphics are shiny and unique in a pleasing way. Each location felt like a painting that took life. The characters are beautifuly animated. The ambiance and event sequencing gave me Agatha Christie vibes. The music had something from the White Lotus at some moments. The first half of the game took me the most time, but suddenly everything speeds up and there is almost no room left for errors. The chapters unveil themselves while the player barely does anything. I wish the game was longer and the end of the story was a bit more fleshed out. I felt slightly frustrated at the end, as if I had an excellent appetizer that left my hunger unappeased. It still means the world building, artistic direction and mechanics were doing something right.

This is such a great game filled with charm. When I bought this game I did NOT expect the fully voiced cast, animated character portraits and a fantastic bgm at all. I mean WTH I stopped playing Silksong to finish this game. Was a good distraction from getting mauled by the Savage Beastfly. ♥♥♥♥ that guy. Ahem, getting sidetracked here. Apparently, Tangle Tower is a new installment from an already beloved franchise Detective Grimoire. From what I understand there are a few flash games and another steam game prior to this (already bought the prequel, looks almost as good as this one). This is a must play from Detective Game lovers/ Point & Click lovers/ Anyone who enjoys good art at all. The whole game was almost perfect, with no filler at all. had a solid 6 hours of enjoyment for dirt cheap. It is QUALITY, truly. Need to find more games like this. The ending was a tiny bit unsatisfactory though....not weak writing, but leaves us wanting more....I do hope they resolve the lingering threads in the next installment (PLEASE let there be a next installment). 10/10 recommended. HIGHLY recommended.

A very hesitant recommend. It's a passable detective game, but two things hold it back: 1. The game holds your hand too much. If you fail a puzzle they immediately start giving you hints. There's no option to play unguided at all. 2. The ending, it's not very good. A few unresolved minor plot threads is fine and natural in a story like this, but this just has far too many major plot points that are unexplained. You uncover the WHO and HOW and WHEN, but the big WHATs and WHYs are just never touched on, which is a shame, because it was so close to being satisfying if there had been just two or three more lines of dialogue.

I didn't know how much i would fall in love with this game when i started it. A great intriguing mystery, intricate and creative puzzles that all feel like a fresh idea, fantastic voice acting that just oozes real heart and passion for this whole thing. And a wonderfully crafted and thought out setting, from the tower itself, to the character design, to the music. I loved every minute of it and am keeping my eye out for the sequel. This game is quite the charmer.
