I would like to say I preferred Five Dates, mainly because of the casting — and casting is a big part of this kind of game. Still, Ten Dates is a unique experience. The script is really well written: it manages to be cringe when it needs to be, caring and passionate when there’s genuine chemistry between characters. All of that works thanks to a strong scenario. I don’t want to spoil anything, but with the male character I found most dates a bit disappointing — maybe intentionally, to reflect how difficult it can be for men to find the “perfect fit”? Still, there are some deep thoughts behind the scenes. Some characters only reveal who they truly are if you’re kind and tolerant, and the writing is so good that if you don’t listen to your heart you can end up disliking the wrong people. In the end, the game shows how simple love should be: when you trust and stop blaming/complaining, everything becomes smoother and more natural, almost like gender barriers don’t exist. Bash, in particular, shows how problems can be solved with humor: even when you mess up, your partner still smiles and cares. Some situations feel exaggerated, some connections happen a bit too fast, but I understand the game lasts barely one hour and has to condense a huge amount of scenes. Editing must have been a nightmare. Of course I wish we had access to more profiles — choosing between only five partners makes things harder. Sometimes the decision timer starts before the narrator even finishes the sentence, so you don’t always get the context. And when English isn’t your first language and you need time to read, it goes a bit too fast. Having only two choices also leads to lucky guesses; maybe more branches and fewer filler conversations would improve the flow. Overall it’s a cool and cozy experience when you’re alone at your PC with all those charismatic characters for company. I know it’s not an 18+ game, but in a romance game you expect at least some erotic tension — maybe more kisses, more flirt, more “heat”. It’s definitely too soft for a romance story. Please don’t make 2025 more politically flat than it already is. Michaël from House Station Live Note: GPT was only used to fix spelling

Ten Dates, developed by Wales Interactive in partnership with Good Gate Media, is an engaging continuation of the studio’s interactive film series that examines love, chemistry, and the unpredictable nature of human connection in the modern age. As the successor to Five Dates, it expands on the concept of digital romance by trading video calls for in-person encounters, following two protagonists—Misha and Ryan—as they each navigate five potential romantic interests. The game’s structure allows players to step into either character’s shoes, offering a perspective on both sides of the dating world while maintaining the signature full-motion video format that Wales Interactive is known for. What emerges is a vibrant, dialogue-driven experience that sits somewhere between an interactive movie, a dating sim, and a social experiment. The narrative unfolds through a series of speed-dating sessions and follow-up encounters, where every conversation choice shapes how the relationship progresses. Each of the ten potential dates has a distinct personality, worldview, and dynamic that demands different approaches. Some are lighthearted and flirty, others intense or introspective, and part of the fun lies in learning to read each person’s cues and reacting appropriately. These interactions feel organic thanks to the cast’s strong performances, with each actor embodying their character in a believable and natural way. The dialogue often feels spontaneous rather than scripted, with enough emotional nuance to make even short exchanges meaningful. While the game’s scenarios are often humorous or awkward in the best possible way, there’s also a sincere exploration of how people present themselves when searching for connection, making the experience feel both entertaining and surprisingly genuine. From a production standpoint, Ten Dates is one of Wales Interactive’s most polished FMV projects to date. The cinematography is sleek and confident, using warm lighting and close framing to create a sense of intimacy that mirrors the tension of real-life dating. The locations—trendy bars, cozy restaurants, and other London hotspots—add visual flair and realism, grounding the story in a believable setting. The user interface is smooth and intuitive, fading seamlessly into the live-action footage so that the player’s input never breaks immersion. The fast-paced editing and responsive choice system keep scenes dynamic, with decisions needing to be made quickly to simulate the conversational flow of real-life exchanges. It’s this immediacy that makes the experience engaging; the player doesn’t have time to overthink, just as in real social interactions. Ten Dates also deserves credit for the diversity of its cast and relationships. Players can pursue both heterosexual and same-sex options, with different romantic arcs depending on which protagonist is chosen. Each potential partner offers a distinct emotional tone—from witty banter to more heartfelt vulnerability—and the range of backgrounds and personalities gives each route its own flavor. This diversity extends beyond romance; the writing touches on contemporary themes such as online identity, emotional intelligence, career ambition, and the anxieties of post-pandemic dating. These discussions feel modern without being preachy, and they add an unexpected layer of authenticity to what could easily have been a lighthearted dating simulation. That said, Ten Dates isn’t without its limitations. While player choice is central to the experience, the branching narrative structure remains relatively constrained. Dialogue options often lead to slightly altered scenes rather than drastically different outcomes, and the illusion of control can fade on subsequent playthroughs when players realize how tightly scripted the game truly is. Some exchanges also suffer from tonal inconsistency, with certain lines feeling forced or mismatched with the character’s demeanor. The short runtime—each playthrough lasting around two to three hours—means that relationships sometimes progress too quickly, and emotional depth can feel compressed into brief conversations. While the replay value is enhanced by the number of possible dates, repetition becomes noticeable when revisiting similar scenes or topics across multiple routes. Despite these drawbacks, Ten Dates succeeds in what it sets out to do: create a charming, human-centered exploration of love and vulnerability in the digital era. Its strength lies not in complexity but in relatability. The experience captures both the excitement and awkwardness of meeting someone new—the pauses, the glances, the small talk that either fizzles or sparks something genuine. The performances make these moments come alive, and the direction gives each date an identity strong enough to make players curious about every possible outcome. Wales Interactive and Good Gate Media have built a niche for themselves in the interactive film genre, and Ten Dates stands as one of their most accessible and emotionally grounded efforts to date. In the end, Ten Dates is less about winning the perfect romance and more about understanding the imperfect nature of human connection. It’s a short, sincere, and highly watchable story that balances humor and heart with modern sensibility. While it doesn’t reinvent the FMV format or the dating sim genre, it refines both, delivering a thoughtful and enjoyable experience that feels at once playful and authentic. For players who appreciate interactive storytelling, strong acting, and the unpredictable dance of dating, Ten Dates is an experience worth revisiting—one that reminds us that every connection, no matter how brief, tells a story of its own. Ten Dates is a superb follow up to Five Dates. It touches on more modern day situations (Covid, for example) while keeping the same cheesy yet serious tone. There isn't much else to say about the game. You are one of two characters and you go on dates. There are a wide variety of scenes (both positive and negative responses/results) and the characters are grounded, for the most part. There isn't much "groundbreaking" about the game, but it takes the FMV style gameplay and adds a well rounded "dating sim" to the mix. I personally like the FMV "games like a movie" style, and while this is a tad different, it still allows you to choose your own adventure, within the grounds of the content being presented. Overall, this game does it's job and it provides a little bit of entertainment. I personally like the majority of the characters' arcs throughout each encounter.

Yes, I really enjoyed the game, the layout of the game is so simple that I thought I am buying it from a free website! But it just shows how the developer makes the game very eazy to approach with design wise. I enjoyed the realism that the game offers, in one scenario when you choose the gay option. The partner we engage with actually ask if we are actually gay because we dont look like it, and I actually think so as well! Its a reality hit for me that I have my own bias about how would someone present themself just because of their sexuality. It also challenges me that sexuality is not only one sided, but also a possibility of a mix of many things. You can be straight before you met someone that makes you think twice. The game offers a really good hit to my ego about sexuality and that what makes the journey playing the game meaningful. If you are looking for a game that is simple but engaging, I can recommend this very much.

Ten Dates improves on Five Dates in every way. Great variety of characters, strong acting, and a fun look into speed dating culture. The only drawback is the limited language support, but overall it’s a very enjoyable FMV experience.
