As an avid dating sim player, I give this game a passing grade of 3/5 stars. The Pros Let's start with what the game gets right. I have to give the team props for the writing; it’s a genuinely plot-driven story with a great mix of sugar and spice. While it definitely gets pretty raunchy at times, it’s easily the most comedic story Storytaco has put out so far. Each girl gets a somewhat decent arc; I wouldn't say every romanceable character has incredible depth, but hey, they can't all be perfect. I also thought the manager character was really funny! The Cons Honestly, this isn't the studio's best work when it comes to execution, so I'll keep this short and sweet: The Acting: The acting felt very lacking in places. At times, the script came across as forced and awkwardly delivered (and not the good, funny kind of awkward). Limited Options: The cast might not be everyone's cup of tea, and it doesn't help that this game features the smallest number of romanceable characters of any of their titles so far. Lack of Extras: Compared to previous releases, this game is seriously lacking in bonus behind-the-scenes content. Overall, it’s a decent experience for the price point. I'm still a fan and look forward to the new stories the studio pushes out next!
First impressions after only 90 minutes of play: - Very good English translation: unlike many other games in this genre (mostly Chinese), this game has a proper English translation, not just "Google translate"-like subtitles where dialogue is fuzzy. Nope: good and correct English here. - Mix of comedy and "racey" moments: I appreciate the "down on his luck" setting for the playable character that gets thrown into a new job at a remote hotel. All the characters/ladies so far have a mix of heartfelt moments but also comedic/awlward moments, together with some... "racey" ones. - Good presentation: like I said, only scratched the surface on this one, but there's a lot of good shots and attention to detail. There are also some shots where you can see the main character kind of in a "3rd person" view of the scene, which I haven't seen before and lends to the overall feeling of being immersed in the story, since it's not 100% first person all the time. Only downside I can think of is that it really seems like the OG Korean dialogue is not recorded real-time with the video performance, but actually it's dubbed for the video. It's a bit of a shame, but at the end of the day it doesn't impact things much. Let's be honest, it's not like I can speak Korean, but I noticed. So far, it's been a very nice first session of gameplay, I'll edit this upon completion of first playthrough. Cheers. EDIT: After some more hours, I finished my first playthrough. I was struggingling on which character to focus on, since many were so interesting, so I went back and forth wtith some choices in some chapters. In the ended I chose one and it was pretty cool all the way to the end. Even with the other characters you got to learn a lot and have some nice moments with. So, this just confirmed my early impressions: it is a very good game in this genre. In conclusion I'll say this: all the characters grow on you, regardless of your personal preference, and having a proper English translation goes a long way. I don't think anyone interested in this FMV genre would have any hard time enjoying this.

But for those who don't like this type of game, I'll respect that because taste is taste. Recommended 👍 Don’t FOOL ME, Beauties! is a Korean FMV dating game, and it feels distinctly Korean in tone and storytelling. It’s very different from most Chinese FMV games, with a slight hint of Japanese vibes mixed in. 🏨 Story & Setup You play as a guy in his 20s, unemployed and freshly kicked out by your parents. With nowhere else to go, you end up working at a nearly bankrupt, remote hotel. There, you meet four women, each with very different personalities and backgrounds: • Ga-eun – Your boss, younger than you. A classic tsundere from a rich family who wants to prove she can succeed on her own. Strong personality, but also surprisingly cute when she messes up. • Ah-young – Slightly older than you, a quirky noona who insists on being called unnie . Secretly an IRL livestreamer, with family-related issues and a surprisingly wild side. • Ji-woo – Around your age (or a bit younger), a childhood friend who suddenly reappears after texting you. She’s a webtoon artist who’s had a crush on you forever. • Bit-na – A struggling gravure model you’re already familiar with. She appreciates your help as a photographer and prefers a more mature, equal relationship. There is no harem ending — you will end up choosing only one route. 🎮 Gameplay Gameplay is very straightforward: • Simple branching choices • No QTEs • No strange mechanics The only real downside is the phone/text message scenes . They are unskippable, and during replays they seriously hurt the pacing and become quite annoying. 🎥 Presentation • Video Quality: Solid and clean • Translation: Surprisingly good and easy to read ❤️ Characters (Personal Bias) My personal ranking: Ga-eun > Bit-na > Ah-young > Ji-woo Ga-eun was my favorite and, in my opinion, the prettiest. Her “rich family tsundere trying to prove herself” arc works very well, and her moments of vulnerability and clumsiness are genuinely charming. Bit-na was also great. She wants an equal partner — someone mature, calm, and not overly romantic. Her route feels grounded and refreshing. Ah-young really surprised me. She starts as the “average” girl but turns out to be an IRL streamer doing cosplay, ASMR, and dancing. While she’s not the most striking visually, her personality carries her route. Ji-woo was my least favorite, both in looks and personality. She acts the youngest despite not being the youngest, and her entire conflict revolves around not confessing for years — which didn’t really work for me, especially since you last met in elementary school. Her character design was also the least appealing to me. 🌿 Branching & Routes Branching is not complicated: • Minimal affection system • Some prerequisites based on earlier choices • If you naturally focus on one girl, you’ll almost always end up on her route without issues 📝 Final Thoughts If you enjoy FMV dating games and want something that feels distinctly Korean , with solid acting, decent writing, and clean presentation, this is an easy recommendation. Just be aware that replaying routes can be frustrating due to the unskippable phone scenes.
