Amazing character writing. As a desensitized adult, it's too rare to find a story that gives me The Feels like I'm a 12 year old reading fanfics again, but this story got me full of adrenaline and wanting to cry pretty quickly. Everything these characters were feeling, I was feeling right there with them. The art and music were beautiful and did a great job of setting up the often-disturbing atmosphere. The plot was fun and interesting, but very very weird. I especially highly recommend if you're a fan of romance, especially more toxic and obsessive kinds of romance. This game did a fantastic job of realistically portraying those kinds of dynamics--way better than a lot of more cutesy, tropey, and reductive yandere stuff out there. The start was a bit slow and confusing, and I came close to dropping it, but I decided to give it a fair chance and at least come back and finish the prologue. Once I did that I couldn't put it back down again, to the point that I ruined my sleep schedule over it. It really picks up once you encounter the rest of the characters. This is a visual novel, and has no voice acting. There are some slightly interactive non-kinetic elements, but you should expect to be reading the entire time. Nothing wrong with that at all, just know what you're getting into.

I watched a woman dear to me play this game and liked it so much that I immediately purchased it. Lots of wonderful complex relationships between women in this one. Also the most empathetic portrayal of schizophrenia I've seen.

The Chrono Jotter is a gem among visual novels that deserves more attention. For someone who is caring for a sibling with Schizophrenia , I was extremely impressed by how accurately the condition is portrayed in the narrative. People tend to (ignorantly) slam the word around like it's some funny, silly thing to do without ever having the conscience to know what it's like to care for someone who is schizophrenic . While the music, characters, and storytelling are gripping and well done, the game does have it's minor shortcomings, specifically with the user interface. There are points where text may appear in the journal are misaligned, or when you're trying to use a controller/keyboard, the controls are counter-intuitive. Nothing game-breaking, but could distract from the immersion. Is the game worth buying for anyone who is interested? Absolutely worth every penny in my opinion.

I originally bought this game a long while ago, but decided to wait for the retranslation before playing. And I can now say that the wait was 100% worth it. At first I expected a yuri horror game, but while it didn't meet my horror game expectations, it still delivered with a gloomy and at times uncomfortable setting. The game has bigger and smaller mysteries that need to get solved and contribute to very interesting character developments throughout the cast. Every single character was very interesting to get to know to and the main character provided a lense that was just as interesting as everyone else. Ultimately, it was very satisfying following along and solving all the murder cases. The game also delivers thoroughly on the yuri front, it explores some very unique relationships in all of their beauty and ugliness. Every uncomfortable layer that gets unveiled makes the characters and their relationships all the more beautiful. By the end, I was glad I got to know every character in this story. If the developers plan for more, then I'm excited to see where it goes. I just hope a proper english translation will be taken into account right from the beginning. The characters are so intricately woven and their actions towards each other carry so much nuance, I don't think MTL would have done any of this justice. I'm glad it got another translation by people passionate about this story.

A fairly short but well-made mystery/supernatural VN. Linear but with choices that impact your understanding of the story, with 2 ends [one bad one good] made at the very end of the game. Comes with a basic stat system which didn't work on my end, for some reason I never gained temporary points (used to boost stats) despite the game saying I would. Game recently got a proper English translation to replace the old machine-translated one, so feel free to disregard any bad reviews based on poor translation, I failed to spot any problems with it now.
