Disappointed by the presence of undisclosed AI art in the game. My best guess from reviewing the evidence is that AI art was used as a template then drawn over for a more professional finish--But there are still strange errors left over that a human simply wouldn't make. Things that would take a human effort to make them so wrong. They've come out and denied this but I've seen a pretty conclusive listing of these photos and they go beyond "Poorly drawn hand". A pair of legs under a dinner table but no body. A hand that turns into a fabric knot around the waist. Yeah. So I can't recommend this. If these things don't bother you and you like narrative only games then you'll probably enjoy this. The writing is professional quality and the worldbuilding is very cool, based on the prior game.

The game lived up to my expectations. It is easier to shape the story without constantly calculating every stat.

The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is the sequel spin-off set within the grim and harsh fantasy world that was established in a fantastic manner by the game's previous instalment - The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante. The question now stands, does this game hold the same gripping narrative story-telling as its predecessor? The same moral dilemmas regarding your choices? The same anxiety that pits within your stomach as you hover over each decision, weighing the consequences and benefits? To this, I answer - yes. The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a fantastic narrative adventure that explores the inner-workings of the Arknian Empire in their politics, religion, culture and society as a whole in extreme detail. One might think that compared to the game's previous title, being set in stone as one character whose Lot is already set (that being of royalty/nobility) may streamline the direction of choices the protagonist can make. Though this is hardly an issue - as the game provides important decisions for the player to make that influence many of the Empire's factors previously mentioned, such as it's politics, religion, rights of the elite and/or commoners, etc. However it should be kept in mind that while the choices you make indeed feel impactful with devastating consequences/fruitful rewards, the game eventually falls into a similar trap by its predecessor in that it eventually becomes a numbers game where you aim to make decisions which maximise your stats, resources and alignment for a certain goal rather than role-playing, which is especially true if you decide to replay this game for the different paths, endings and achievements. I have read many of the negative reviews which primarily focus on the possibility of AI-generated images being impelemented within certain parts of the game. While personally, I do not advocate for the use of AI as the primary tool for generating content, I do not mind its use for minor adjustments or upscaling as long as it is disclosed by the developers. Nevertheless, despite the vivid negative feedback from reviewers regarding the use of AI-imagery, I decided to give this game a go, keeping the possible use of AI in the images at the back of my mind. Funnily enough, while playing through the game, I found myself reading and immersing myself more in the narrative and the text more so than the actual images presented before me. Indeed, 80% of your time in games such as this would be dedicated to reading rather than perusing images. The artistic style of the images themselves could be argued to be quite beautiful as they are consistent enough and largely reflects the visual style of the previous game - if not outright identical. Admittedly there are some images I noticed throughout the game that make me arch an eyebrow or question to myself; "That...doesn't look right?" But those moments were rare and were hardly immersion breaking. To sum up, is this game worth it? Yes it is. Like The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, you are buying this game for its narrative and story, not for its pictures.

I have not noticed any AI assets, if they exist they are well hidden or people are just paranoid regarding AI these days. If this was AI slop, it would have been out sooner. Shame on those leaving poor reviews just from speculation.

There is apparently some AI art that i have not noticed 90 minutes into the game. People are either trolling or it's not noticable and immersion breaking at all. The writing is just as good as in the first one so far. EDIT: 6 hours in and still haven't noticed anything AI related. The game is great though, it's new features are cool too. IF there even is anything AI related, it's well hidden and faithful to the game's predecessor.
