Okay, spoilers ahead but I'd read this to get a good idea on what this game even is This game is deeper than people might think at first At first, you might think this girl is just spewing basic philosophical concepts However Every aspect of this game is psychological horror if you actually know what the fuck it is ACTUALLY talking about and what it is getting at in the bigger picture Every second playing this game if you know what it is getting at gives you a headache It's not about existence, it's about immersion, the game challenges you, will you get immersed or not? The protagonist represents someone who is completely immersed in fantasy to the point that he literally has talking furniture Then you have Lilith Lilith's name makes me believe all of this is intentional Lilith is a character that at first glance seems like a boring but trustworthy enough character But the deeper you go into the game, the more you realise she is trying to manipulate you, the player, into creating her as a tulpa, using this narrative as a method of doing so She speaks to you directly, as the player, by the end of the game, after the pretense of a "self-insert protagonist" is dropped She laughs at you if you hesitate before choking her, knowing fully that you have other choices in the game and that the bad ending is something you are funneled to The entire game doesn't let you save, so these actions are irreversible and affect things like the settings not being able to be changed to "MY" by clicking "YOUR" after killing her for example until you get another ending, giving you a sinking feeling that maybe you can't reverse it like in any other game Yet, when you get another ending, she is back like nothing happened, representing her manifesting again The fact that the protagonist, who is severely schizophrenic, is obviously meant to be a "self-insert protagonist" further enforces the manipulation that Lilith is attempting on you This game is not psychological horror because it is an aesthetic, this game is an active mental war Do you fall for the narrative that this girl lays before you to the point that, you yourself, become one with the fantasy? Her constant philosophical ramblings serve a purpose, to overwhelm you while overlooking key details she is manipulating you with She speaks of one specific repeated word, subjective Blended in with the truth, her main lie is the ideal that "everything can be subjective" This is a powerful tool of manipulation to those who are vulnerable It allows her to argue an emotional argument, above logic, through this narrative That she "exists" and that "Tulpas" are the way to showcase this A Tulpa, if you don't know, is a manifested schizophrenic delusion/separate personality as an attempt to help with trauma or lesser problems like loneliness There's a reason the protagonist is the way they are, after all There's a reason why he's so fragile and why his options are so fragile for the bad ending Because he is, quite literally, going insane from mental turmoil and ending up stuck in his mind The entire game, again, is just a front, but it showcases what Lilith wants YOU to do as the player Everything in the game is actually her manifestation, nothing is real within the confines of the game You can see this in the "Good Ending" where the protagonist accepts her as a Tulpa and goes outside, leaving her behind for later and, apparently, ending up getting a healthy life balance While that would be the case in a situation where it's just regular escapism, if it's a Tulpa that's a bit different, as that is apart of your mind which is now broken into pieces It is overall a very bad thing for logical thinking and critical thinking in general Lilith then speaks to you the player, like usual You stare at her and she stares back THIS is when the game unveils itself, but people might not be keen to notice when it takes 30 seconds waiting for each reply and 23 minutes to wait for the last reply Lilith speaks to you, the player, about everything in the game She speaks to you as if she wants something from you, showcasing her true colours, and she explains the truth of the game as well, that being it is her "Wonderland" that she manifested She continues attempting to paint everything as a good thing, but when she asks you directly, the player, to create her as a Tulpa, she hesitates, as if she knows it is wrong She says "never mind" and retreats back This one moment is what recontextualises the entire game in the lense I have talked about here This is why the game is psychological horror, the game showcases an unadulterated showcase of how people can be affected by escapism and how escapism can use them for its own ends While this game genuinely can harm vulnerable people, which is why I have qualms about this, I don't think this makes it a badly written game In fact, it's genius in how it does things It actively has a narrative that intentionally screws with you, showcasing things deeper than just being meta Lilith clearly wants someone like the protagonist in the good ending, which is why it is the "good ending" to begin with Because the entire game is Lilith's proposition to you, the player, on why you should let her exist By manifesting her as a schizophrenic delusion or a separate personality, you become one with her fiction It reminds me of Ib somewhat, but on a more personal level, a deconstruction of what people believe to be real, a deconstruction of creators and fiction This game is shockingly deep to the extent that it's really fucking scary Good job writers, though a lot of people didn't really get the point but I get it since Tulpas aren't really a common concept normal people know about (for good reason obviously LOL) and this game's pretty long Plus if you're someone who is playing the game, I think there might be a chance you are the type of person that Lilith is looking for Vulnerable, depressed, perfect "prey" to bring into fantasy In that regard, she is more successful than Monika Because Monika had boundaries, Lilith does not The question is... Does she view you as prey? Or as a friend she simply wants to meet in real life? The answer is probably just an intense love, from an author to a reader To keep these characters alive in your heart And when that love goes further The author, Lilith, wishes for you to go one step further And make her part of your reality .... Thanks.... For slopping by .....

As others have said, it's a really psychological game. Hurts my brain.

The main theme of The NOexistenceN of you AND me revolves around a single question: Does she exist? One day a girl appears in your room, from that moment on, you're taken on a philosophical journey trough the concept of the "self" as perspective, as individual, as relationships, and the merge of all three. While the game is presented as a psychological horror, I personally wouldn't describe it that way. It has its moments, but it isn't a horror game in the traditional way. Rather more a introspective experience that asks you to question you perception about existence, connection, and meaning. Narratively, the game is short, it took me around four hours to reach my first ending. There were some parts I didn't fully understand on my first playtrough. The tone shifts quickly: from soft and joyful moments to thoughtful and philosophicaly ones that can feel overwhelming. Some lines genuinly warmed my heart in ways I didn't expect. Visually the games has a charming minimalistic style. The characters design are elegant with an nice artistic touch. The music is absolutely wonderful. My favorite track is “The Cozy Room,” which captures the mix of comfort and melancholy that defines much of the experience. In fact, the entire soundtrack complements the tone and enhances the atmosphere in every scene. The Japanese voice acting is also nice. Kokonoe Yukari’s performance as Lilith is gentle, emotional, and captivating. Her voice gives real warmth to the character. I’d love to see her in more projects. Even though I loved this game, I know it’s not for everyone. It’s best suited for fans of visual novels who want something short, quiet, and thoughtful, or for anyone looking for an entry point into more visual novels. If I had to point out a flaw, it would be how unforgiving some choices are. Just one wrong decision can lead you straight to the bad ending, and the lack of save points means you need to replay the entire section to fix your choices. Overall, The NOexistenceN of you AND me is a short but memorable visual novel. It leans more toward introspection than horror. It questions you, makes you feel emotions, and offers comfort to those who need it. The visuals are clean and expressive, the music is nice, and the voice acting makes it all feel natural. If you're looking for something thoughtful and quielty emotional, a story that will stay in your mind even after it ends, then, this game is absolutely worth your time. At last, at the end of the story, the question is asked again: "Do I exist?" To that, I'd answer: "Yes, you exist. And I wish to exist beside you." If you've ever struggled with loneliness, anxiety, or questions about your own worth, I hope this game, and this review, reminds you of something: You matter. Your existence is real. Your existence is meaningful. You are not alone.

The Good [*]Although very little, nice art [*]Some of the varying choices in the game lead to some very enjoyable moments that you don't really expect the writer to go very deep into. [*]With the right kind of empathy for this, the experience will be very touching despite how short the experience is [*]A decent amount of reading time while being extremely cheap to buy. [*]Lilith exists, thankfully so. The Bad [*]It's very short [*]A particular ending can be a bit too easy to accidentally get, derailing prior choices [*]Your furniture won't stop talking to you You came for the cute girl, but she was always there... There's alot of "meta" visual novels out there that give you an interesting story while giving people a lasting impact on how clever they use their gimmicks while maintaining an appealing atmosphere. As someone who went into reading The NOexistenceN of you AND me while expecting such a scenario based on some comments and the trailers, this VN does that while adding on a bit more to the experience by being more direct with you as the reader Or Tulpamancer . Sadly, the VN is too short to really say anything without spoiling more than the steam page already does (ironically), but in spite of spoilers: it's about the context and why things tie together which make up why it's enjoyable. Expect a decent amount of comedy with references, some serious moments, and an unexpected amount of philosophy thrown at you while reading. This is an experience; to get the most out of it: you should go into this while self-inserting yourself as much as possible; after all, you are the protagonist here. While some choices or paths might not match what you had in mind or what you would do, the VN generally does a decent job of showing you why things happened that way aside from the bad ending, but it was good nevertheless . Beware of guilt tripping... If you are any of the following: [*]Lonely [*]Need something short to read [*]Wanted to meet a cute girl [*]Looking for a little bit of philosophical thought [*]An interesting experience in general If you feel any of that, then I would recommend trying out The NOexistenceN of you AND me. However do be warned, if you are someone who engages in heavy self-loathing or self-esteem: be a bit careful while reading as this VN can be potentially impactful in terms of guilt tripping. All in all, this was a very enjoyable experience and because of it: I rediscovered a friend that was always beside me. Lilith exists...
