An interesting Cerebral Journey with Paint A sequence of well planned puzzles which are dastardly hard to figure and will need turning on the clues. There is one house where I got turned around in a small passage so often I almost drew a map. BUT it's a brilliant immersive albeit short journey into the darkness of the idle mind and into bright beginnings. Using Art and creativity as metaphors for the processes that shape our lives is a very clever idea. I loved the task of finding the painting materials and mixing basic colours and where the game takes you in terms of understanding how to find your true inner self by continuously seeking fresh experiences and finding places and people that enable that. Not a long puzzle If you turn on the hints (you can ignore them until you get stuck) the game might be over in an hour or two. Otherwise you will need a scrap of paper for keeping track of things you see. Incredibly short game, but the price reflects this so it isn't too bad. It's a much more surreal, slow and thoughtful hidden object as opposed to other games in the genre, and might take some getting used to. It'll play out mostly as a point-and-click with a surprise wasd unlock near the end. More of a thought experiment than any real tangible gameplay, but pleasant and relaxing regardless. Be sure to only buy it discounted, it REALLY is that short.
The Search is a really interesting game, discussing topics I'm not used to in video games, and I like it a lot. I'll have to admit: the movement is kind of tedious, the puzzles are easy and the story is very linear, not giving a lot of room for discovering stuff on your own. That being said, I still had fun playing it and reading every note I was given. Caveat: I would not recommend playing if you usually skip dialogs in games.
