Stanley had played the Stanley Parable (2013) edition only recently when the Ultra Deluxe Edition came out, so felt no compunction to buy it, considering it a pointless cash grab. Many years then passed, and finally Staanley noticed it was on sale. Curious, and having forgotten much of the game, he read some reviews and was startled to discover that there was over 100% new content. Considering £7 a bargain, for 200% of the original game, Stanley eagerly reached for his credit card and bought the game. Around an hour in, Stanley really started wondering what all the "new content" was. "Was it the narrator?" he asked himself, "did they record more lines for him? He certainly didn't seem this garrulous last time." Stanley took a few different paths, chuckled at half-remembered rooms, and then put the game aside. A few hours later, after a delicious meal, Stanley returned to the Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe edition and booted it up. To his shock and amazement, the game was slightly different! Then, turning a corner in a hallway, Stanley was presented with a bold sign indicating that there was "new Content"! "Aha!" thought Stanley to himself, "They did that thing where the New Content is a DLC that's just a branch placed in the story! What a cheap, old-hat way to bolt on new content.". He considered just giving up at that point, but pressed ahead through a corridor gleefully informing him that New Content was near.... What followed was possibly one of the most confusing, brain-expandingly bizarre updates ever to have graced a computer screen. Truly, the new content was wondrous, adding an unexpected dimension to a new game. For Stanley had been wrong. The new content wasn't just a quick cash-grab DLC branch in the game, it was fundamentally woven into the fabric of the game from the very beginning, but he had been too blind to see it! His eyes opened, Stanley reset his expectations, girded his loins, hitched up his belt, pulled on an anorak, and set forth once again through the game, however THIS time, he took nothing for granted, threw away his prior experience, and truly began to the play the game properly. Ten hours later, Stanley has discovered almost all that the Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe Edition can offer and can confidently say that it is truly a MASTERPIECE.
Stanley decided to write a review about his game and unsprisingly, he was faced with a rather disappointing outcome of zero likes and no steam awards... Stanley decided to wait a few days, in hope of getting at least a bit of attention. And then, after some time, he actually got what he wanted. A group of probably nice and heartwarming people, that would like his steam review. And Stanley was very happy. Then, another few days passed and something was... strange. Stanley realised that he was still getting: another trophy, another like, another "funny review" button. He started to think: why? His review is nothing special, just another bunch of words written in the system, among thousands upon thousands of other reviews. But then he also noticed something. The icon on trophies... changed. He didn't remember them to look like this, they used to share different features, much more original than those out here. Something was wrong... And when days went by, Stanley became even more suspicious of this entire situation. Why am I still getting trophies? Why people are giving me likes? Why the icons on trophies are changing??? And then... the most terrifying question appeared. What was he doing before all of that? His mind started to collapse, pleading for help, as the enourmous weight of knowing started to crush on his body. Was his entire existence limited to this one Steam review? If the review stop to exist, would he still be here? This is a nightmare! A nightmare which cannot stop!
