I loved playing this game. I liked its atmosphere which it achieves through the music, sound effects and animation. The lore was also very interesting to me. You get introduced to it very early in the story, but it only really picks up maybe about midway. TURN CAPTIONS ON IF YOU CARE ABOUT LORE IN GAMES!!! I didn't realize that captions were available and so I missed out on a lot as the voice lines were kind of obscured by ambient reverb. I will be replaying it sometime in the future so I can fully absorb all this game has to offer. When I was debating over whether or not I should buy the game, I saw a review that mentioned that the puzzles were not very replayable. I don't necessarily agree with that, I think that the puzzles were challenging enough to be forgotten and easily replayed. Think Portal/Portal2 in terms of replayability (at least in my opinion). Speaking of puzzles. I am only slightly ashamed to admit that I used a youtube walkthrough a few times during my playthrough, as there were times where I was completely stumped. You really need to try all available avenues with your swapper gun or else you won't progress. I have no real complaints about this game except that it made me feel dumb at times for not understanding some of the puzzles at first. The sense of accomplishment once you figure it out is more than worth it. Great game even if you only play it once.
A handcrafted tribute to retro psychological sci-fi. The mystery of this game is incredible. The gameplay hooks you from the start with a brilliant body-swapping system that keeps getting more challenging as you explore. The audio design is brilliant, the emptiness is beautifully satisfying, and the rooms are clever without being frustratingly impossible. Highly recommended.
Great game. Great puzzles, atmosphere and themes. There's no character progression, or ability unlocking, so you'll have the tools to solve all the puzzles right from the start. Contrary to many of the comments, I'd advise people to not look up for guides or solutions, and just try another available puzzle or take a break if feeling stuck. You'll find yourself solving a single puzzle with an incremental and thoughtful approach, and it's very rewarding to finally get that "Eureka!" feeling. What I would advise is looking up online for "hidden content" before you finally proceed to the last section of the game (128 orbs). It is apparently very common for people to reach the end of the game and realize they haven't unlocked any achievements. This is because these pertain to this hidden content and it's not easy to organically or unintentionally come by it. It adds another layer to the themes and story, and while part of it is about finding hidden areas with new logs to read, another part of it is decoding texts using the Vigenère cipher. It's a different kind of puzzle, and I bet just as rewarding, but I think not everyone will be up for it, so to those who enjoyed the story and world, there's more to it if you care to go through the effort, or just do a little research. Why am I even writing this.
