When is waking up a planet a good idea? Waking Mars was actually an interesting indie. It's a fun little action platformer where you fly around with a jetpack and shoot aliens. The level design is pretty good, but some of the character art during the dialogue... I don't mean to be mean, but looking back at it now it reminds me of weird AI art, even though AI art wasn't really a thing when this game came out. The story, however, didn't stick with me one bit. Does it even have one? Take that with a grain of salt, as some psychopaths like to say. I don't really want to replay it to find out. I'm pretty much like that with all games anyways. Being a psychopath, that is. 7/10 [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45905648-Gork%2527s-Game-Grind/]Check out my curated list of games

Hidden gem. Mechanics are fun and reward player curiosity: discovering new organisms and unexpected ways they interact with each other to progress. Meanwhile player gets sucked in by this curious (science-heavy) plotline of trying to uncover the mystery of where this alien life came from, why we have never seen it before, and mysterious pictures left behind by a previous unmanned drone. By the time ♥♥♥♥ gets real, you are already too invested. The dialogue and characters are well-written and keep you entertained through hard puzzles. Before I could realize, the game was over and I was just staring at the credits. Good thing I had the chance to play it again 10 years later, to find that without much memory of the game I could experience most of it again. Can't wait to play again in 10 years. If you are one of the developers and is reading this, I want to thank you!

One of my all time favorites, so I had to replay it on a steam deck This is not your usual plant and crop farm game, this is building an ecosystem, that lives on its own, and your decisions may change the environment dramatically.

One of the coolest games I've ever played. They really crafted a full interactable alien ecosystem. You progress in this game by understanding how each alien creature works and learning to use their traits. The alien creatures are so weird and sometimes complex, it takes a long time to fully understand everything. Sommetimes I don't have to do anything, I just watch the ecosystem grow by itself as the creatures organically interact with each other, and somehow that feels even cooler than playing and doing the work yourself.
