Main 4 issues in Wonders of Sodor. 1: The railway map isn’t half as large as Sodor is meant to be. The only reference to the narrow gauge Skarloey Railway is platforms 3 and 4 of Crovan’s Gate, and the connecting line is empty, only the one station. 2: No ingame music. There’s music at the menu, but during story missions or freeroam? Nada. 3: The trains don’t talk ingame beyond story scenes. 4: NOT ENOUGH ENGINES!! There’s 5 engines in the base game: Thomas, Percy, Gordon, Diesel, and Emily, and you get 1 more with the Deluxe Edition: James. No Duck, no Edward, no Toby, no Henry, no Donald or Douglas, no Oliver, no Lady, no Bill or Ben, no Flying Scotsman, no Stepney, no Spencer, no Stanley, no Daisy, no BoCo, no Mavis, no Salty, no Sidney, and then of course no narrow-gaugers…no Bulgy, no Terence, no Trevor, no Harold… In short, while this is a blast of nostalgia for fans of Thomas, the lack of content leaves it ringing hollow. I certainly hope this isn't all there is.

I am definitely NOT a fan of Dovetail and their price gouging and releasing the same train sim world game over and over. But I must give credit where credit is due despite the greed and evil that has overrun this company. They did a great job with this. Good: - The scenery, the gameplay and storytelling is perfect and fun. - The controls are great for any age group. Its simple controls but still feel weighty, realistic and complete. - This is still a train simulator through and through Bad: - All the issues they refuse to fix from the Train Sim World series are all here. From the janky camera hitching on every possible object, to awful lighting in tunnels even with the headlight on, to the constant freezing when things load in, to TAA still being the best anti aliasing. The dated Train Sim World engine and all its flaws are here. - Derails, while hilarious, are ridiculous. You just go flying like its farming simulator and you just hit a tiny bump. - Price (of course) It's dovetail so its naturally overpriced with day one DLC. This should be a 20 dollar game.

Skipped the tutorial because I'm a gamer and this is a Thomas & Friends game. Immediately humbled as my first locomotive rolls backwards out of the station and derails on a switch track. A beautiful game which seriously tickles the 'tism, despite some UI glitches and funny bugs. Would recommend.

My 5 year old self is crying right now as I get to play a Thomas the Tank Engine game, a full fledged Thomas and Friends simulator! Just got through the tutorial and I'm loving it! Update: Only issue I hope they add is skippable cutscenes. Restarted a level and it replayed the cutscene.
