Super cute, it does end up cluttering up the screen BUT you can hide the gardens and just show them when you want to, making it easy to do other things. It's not gpu heavy, so you can play other games, or work, or whatever.

I wish Steam had a 'Maybe' option for reviews, as my experience with Garden Desk falls somewhere in between. The game is enjoyable especially in the early stages and it offers a relaxing and engaging experience. However if your someone who enjoys completing achievements or progressing efficiently you might find that the pace slows down significantly over time. That said if you have a lot of free time and enjoy casual gameplay this game could keep you entertained for quite a while.

It's quite nice, isn't distracting like other desktop toys can be because the animations are subtle, plus the gameplay really is just mostly click plant and harvest then appreciate pretty art and numbers go up as you unlock more tiles. It's just a nice "desk toy" to have so far while working on things because it's not really distracting. For those on the fence about it because it doesn't feel much of a game, is worth trying out the demo. I was hesitant too til I tried it out. There's also a "plant all" button in the main game versus the demo in case that becomes a gripe. I do wish that there'll be more of a gamification with the unlocking of things though, like idk make a group of 4 of a certain plant to make a special version of that plant? Or unlock certain plants if they're beside each other as a form of "breeding"? Would allow for the not so distracting to be maintained, but at least gives more gameplay. I feel like the blocks would be a great way to use as a "timer tool" too. If only a selected block could be opted to be always showing its timer. I'm also not sure if the decoration blocks with their boosts work even if they're hidden. LIke do they apply to all blocks, do they need to be present in the garden, do they only apply to adjacent blocks(?) I really can't tell :)) So far I just muted all sounds from the game as the popping sounds can be distracting especially for the 1 minute blocks, and the music can be repetitive. But it's also pretty nice to turn on every now and then. Is relaxing.

This one is simply perfect. It's an idle game enjoyable to the eye, very quickly maintainable (one click to harvest all, one click to plant all), customizable and really cheap. It's really simple to use, every block placement is customizable and you have the warehouse to put away what you don't need. I played the demo and they reduced the difficulty in the released game so that was a nice surprise. Also you can hide your garden in one click and you have that really useful design that says how many plants have grown while the garden is hidden (to unlock that design you have to buy once the first decoration that cost one flower). I really recommend this one if you are into cute idle games or are looking for a cute design evolving on the side while you work.

quickest purchase i've ever made upon news of release, after trying the demo for 1 week (usually i think over inexpensive purchases for hours/days) Note: demo save is not transferable to full game
