Solid Touhou fan game that has all the QoL features a good Touhou game should have (including translations), plus well designed stages & patterns, most not too special or gimmicky but still engaging. I appreciate the bonus challenge spellcards you can unlock and play in the menu, they are hard, fun and unique. The main stages and extra stage are fairly accessible due to their difficulty being on the lower side of the official entries. I certainly struggled a lot more with TH06, and not just because of the lack of focus. Then again it might have been me being new to bullet hell. The music is decent, maybe a little on the weak side, although can't hate on the remixes of official themes, where is my Remilia theme at though? This Remilia theme just doesn't hit like it does... extra stage theme though, chef's kiss. Some call this game a remake of TH06 which yeah, it's a reimagined TH06 storyline with the same characters and a few changes, but the danmaku patterns are not at all the same as far as i can tell, and a stage or two seem drastically different from what i rember. The store page description clearly indicates this is supposed to be a fan made event that happens a while after TH06. Also Cirno upgraded to homing danmaku, this time she can't miss.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN "NORMAL", THERE WERE A THOUSAND POJECTILES ON SCREEN AT ONCE?!? I'm not the most experienced Touhou player lol, I'm just barely getting into the series myself. However, in my very uninformed opinion, this is a really good game, gameplay-wise. Characters are fun, art is charming, it has the same look as other touhou games, if not with increased quality of art. I'm garb at this game, but it's rather indulgent, and, as any touhou game, has plenty of difficulty options. A little something for everybody. Just get it lol
As expected, this game is another masterpiece for being the first FDF game. This game is very beginner friendly while also giving enough challenge for the experienced players. This is how games should be designed. Music is really good. So while you're waiting for the remake of EoSD, why not give this a try?
