March 2026
After nearly 1400 hours in the game, I suppose now is a good time to give my review. I'm not sure how to structure this as I've never really written a review before but let's start with my general opinion of the game: I recommend it. It's one of the most fun and addicting games I've ever played. If you're into building stuff or if you just want a fun space to hang out in, I'd be hard-pressed to find a better alternative. There's a ton of minigames within the actual game. Everything from mini-golf, gun game (SDNL), Infected mode (Virus), shooting galleries, claw machines, a Mario Kart-esque game (Accelerate), carnival games and a bunch of different arcade games to play. Not to mention the games that some users create in their own condos. Along with just regular minigames, Tower also has support for emulators built in as well so there's a lot you can do to say the least. There's also a casino that you can win (or lose) a ton of money at. Don't worry, there's no microtransactions or any of that other modern day bs in this game. You earn currency through playing the minigames and doing stuff around the plaza basically. When it comes to the casino, I recommend staying away from Blackjack, but Horsebetting and Roulette all the way! The slots are decent too. If you like gambling but don't wanna take out a mortgage or worry about the yakuza coming for your fingers, then this game can definitely scratch that itch. When it comes to building, I've not found a better, more in-depth system than what is in this game. You can build practically whatever you want and the only real limitation would be time and your own imagination. I've spent countless hours just building stuff in my own condo. Everything from small one-room worlds to entire cities. The creativity of the community knows no bounds and it's always fascinating to visit other condos and see what people have built. This is really where I spend the bulk of my own time in the game because you can really make your own space for both you and your friends. Everything from custom textures and canvases and custom workshop items. While I do think some of it could be a bit simpler so that novice builders don't get turned away, I like the system the way it is. It's a little bit complex, but just simple enough to where a caveman like me can still learn how to use it with some time. The condo I/O stuff is really good as well, but I'd recommend it mostly for those that are more adept at building and are more familiar with the mechanics before diving in head-first. When it comes to character customization, the game itself does provide its own models, though most people, myself included, use custom avatars from the workshop. These avatars can, of course, be further decorated with accessories, hats, necklaces, glasses, inner tubes and other gear. There's so many ways to personalize your character and if you can't find one that you like, there's even a few people that take commissions for adding characters to the game. That being said, there's a ton of options and you're bound to find something you like. When it comes to the community, the game has its ups and downs. As with any social game, it has some issues. However, if you stay away from the drama and just do your own thing, you'll be fine and if you stick around long enough, you'll learn who and what to avoid. I've never personally had any beef with anyone in the community for as long as I've played the game and I've met some of kindest and most creative minds here. Many of those people are still my friends to this day. As a general rule, I would play the game in a way similar to how I'd conduct myself at a bar. Stay away from controversial subjects like religion and politics and other nonsense, but don't be afraid to be yourself and cut loose sometimes every now and then. In general, just try to be mindful of others and consider the time and place. Do that and you'll be golden, more or less. The community isn't as big as it used to be. Lots of people stay in their own condos or in friends' condos and sometimes the plaza isn't overflowing with people, but it's not a big deal. Some of those that remain are some of the most dedicated and coolest people in the community. With having a small population, it's a lot like living in a small town. You'll meet the same people most days and you'll get used to seeing them pop up in the chat. I like this game and I think most of you reading will find something that you yourself will enjoy about it too. Anyway, that's about it. See ya

This game is like VR chat, except you actually get to do stuff other than stand around in it. There's arcade games. There's user condos where you can decorate for 3000 hours and program buttons and objects. There's a casino. There's a theatre where you can watch youtube videos together. There's trivia. There's an infinite amount of minigolf courses to play. This game has almost everything. You should buy it.

great game, lack of effective marketing made the game dead according to OG's. General Sam gave many awareness. Dev team. market. you're sitting on gold and not digging.

It's like VRchat but if it was actually moderated and had a working report system and 0 tolerance for NSFW content outside of players private condos. It truly is a gem of a game and all its gamemodes just make it even more fun. Also you can ignore the negative cope reviews about the devs making another game "while TU is plagued with issues" when its probably the most bug free experience you can get, I came back to this game after a general sam video after not touching it in almost 4 years and it truly is way better than it ever was in terms of quality. Nitpickers gonna nitpick I guess

As somebody who's sunk over ten thousand hours for this game since 2019, I can safely say that I would recommend this game for its twenty dollar price tag. I'm not going to sugarcoat things, this game DOES have glaring flaws, such as: Poor performance (This game is very CPU heavy, especially in plazas and condos.) Lots of bugs Crashing (hard and soft) Patchy Moderation (Mainly due to small team and unclear communication to playerbase on how to report. I will say that 90% of negative reviews on this game of people complaining that they got "unfairly banned" or whatever are either so stupid they didn't realize they can't say the n-word, or are just lying.) However, for its size, the game is incredibly ambitious, and has something for almost everybody. Most people buy this game for the Minigolf, but there are a lot of other things. I mainly am a Condo builder myself, and so most of my time is spent building or visiting Condos; the condo system is incredibly in-depth (although buggy) and has spoiled me on pretty much any other build mode in any game ever. I think the closest game in complexity when it comes to live, in-engine building is maybe Halo Infinite's forge mode, but Tower Unite has even more customization, such as custom image data, and workshop models and sounds. I have made countless friends (and enemies) on this game over the past six or so years. For that, I have to recommend it. I will mention that if you are tight on money, this game goes on sale A LOT. It almost always goes on sale during: April (the game's anniversary) Summer Sale Autumn Sale (Halloween event!!!) Winter Sale (Holiday event!!!) It's also been included in the Humble Bundle once or twice.
