Magic Archery was the first incremental game I ever played and I searched tirelessly for one like it. I found the demo of this game and have been waiting for the release ever since. I thoroughly enjoy how Barribob makes his incremental games. There really isnt any others like it that Ive been able to find. Theyre great. This game is great :) The pacing is good for a game you can complete in under 12 hours. There is enough complexity to keep you thinking and choosing your strategy, but not so much that it overwhelms. It isnt a game that you wait for hours for something to happen. If you read everything and plan properly there is always something you can do to get a boost and reach the goals. In fact, if your waiting around you may be missing something so keep an eye out!

A standard semi-idle incremental experience. Cute graphics, an engaging pace and an attractive theme. Absolute deal for its price.

⏩Compact review - Score 85/100 🤔TLDR - Well worth the price, cozy game that takes around 4-6 hours I didn't play the demo for this game so I can't comment if it's worth trying or if progress carries over Current progress 🏆 Completion ⭐ Achievements ↩ Will I return? 100% 12/12 Depending if there is an update otherwise I don't see a replay value How I played it 👤 Solo or 👥 co-op 🎮 Controls 🕙 Speedrun or casual Solo Keyboard & mouse All in one go but had it on 2nd screen while working 🔍 Use of guides/walkthroughs? 🔫 Mods N/A N/A 💰 DLC 💳 Microtransactions N/A N/A Noteworthy points 🟢 Pros 🔴 Cons [*] Very cozy game, both sound and graphics where very chill and fit the game very well [*] As expected the progression in a game like this becomes slower over time. This game didn't end up feeling like a slog towards the end [*] Didn't run into a single bug [*] The prestige upgrades felt a bit meeh by not really adding anything special and you max how to get the points in one of the ways verey early on Based on games I've played/seen others play 🔎 Other games I compare it to How? Spoilers for story/gameplay will be blacked out [*] If i had to pick one I would say Gnorp Apologue [*] Thats just based on graphics. It's very simillar to other clickers/Idle games but done very well 💭 Final thoughts I loved this game. I played the devs other game called Magic Archery and enjoyed that game and saw they the dev had another game coming soon so i wishlished it. It's very nice to see that the dev took ideas from their first game and improved in their next titel. If i had a say I would improve the prestige system a bit by adding more notable changes that might change the gameplay a small bit so each loop has a bit more to do or have something that awards active/afk playstyle. But that just to be picky. This is not an in-depth review and information you might want to know might not be in the review. See other reviews or comment and I will answer 🤘 Message from me This game made my day

A short, sweet incremental game that doesn't overstay its welcome. To start off, let me tell you what this game is about. You play as a wizard trying to build a wizard’s tower. Story-wise, that is pretty much it—but in my opinion, a good idle game doesn't really need a story. So, let us continue to dive into the game. The game has three main resources you have to farm: Magic, Knowledge, and Wood. Resources are gathered by spirits, which you could categorize as yet another resource. You gain spirits by either buying them, researching stuff, or by other means, which I won’t spoil. Spirits must be assigned to pretty much every building you get. Think of them as villagers, like in Age of Empires II. They can be freely assigned to any building you have—be it gathering magic, researching stuff, and so on. So, let us continue. Using these three resources, your aim is to push your progress by ascending your tower. Each ascension comes with new features, buildings, or both. These new features and buildings will usually boost your economy significantly or give you a percentage-based increase to different stats. Eventually, you will hit a point where progressing takes way too long, and that's when you've hit your current wall. Basically, you’ve reached a point where progress takes too long to make significant headway within a reasonable time investment. But as is common for idle games, reaching that point is all part of the genre—because after hitting your wall, you have to do a prestige reset. Prestige is what usually makes idle games idle games. Prestige will be accumulated by gaining magic and, later, by dealing damage to an obstacle (which I don't want to spoil for you). Prestiges usually come with huge benefits, like making your early game smoother by letting you start with Ascension level 2, granting more percentage-based resource gains, or other neat buffs that will make progress easier and more reasonable. As a side note, Tower Wizard’s dev has added elements from SlamWall and Magic Archery, which I absolutely loved—namely, having to clear obstacles. I highly recommend checking out the dev’s other games. The game itself isn't much to look at, but the graphics are cute and well done nonetheless. Finishing the game won't take you too long, especially if you’ve played the demo beforehand, which gives you a huge advantage, as your progress from the demo is carried over. It took me roughly six hours to 100% the game, so as you can see, it isn’t your typical infinite-playtime idle game—which isn’t a bad thing, in my opinion. Many good idle games, like NGU Idle, have an endgame, an end goal you can strive to reach, and Tower Wizard is no different in that matter. You can beat the game in a reasonable amount of time, without it overstaying its welcome or making you idle for days on end—risking boredom. I really enjoyed my six hours in the game, and for €3, I absolutely cannot complain about the enjoyment I got out of it. High praises aside, there are some things I wish for or would love to see in future updates. First, the game feels more like an active idler, so you need to play actively—building, buying, and upgrading your tower. This isn't a bad thing; I just wanted to point it out for people who are looking for a mostly idle experience. Personally, I had no problem with it. While the game is super enjoyable and has an end, as an idle game lover, I kinda would have loved for it to have some post-game content or any meaningful way for me to continue infinitely. The prestige upgrades are 80% solid, while 20% feel a bit “meh.” A nice way to prolong the game for those seeking a bit more farming would be to add infinite prestige points. These currently max out once you can't buy any more upgrades. I wouldn't mind farming more prestige and maybe having access to infinitely upgradeable resource bonuses—like “Each prestige upgrade increases magic gain by 100%” or something similar. Another thing that I have to describe as rather poorly implemented is the obstacle I mentioned a few times. Units you hire to deal with it feel 100% obsolete—not even upgrading them changes that fact. For my playthrough, I went for scholars and the associated upgrades to obliterate the obstacles without much thought. While there are a few ways to deal with the obstacle, you don’t need to strategize or build a complex setup to do so. So, overall, the combat mechanic is kind of bad. My final verdict for the game is a solid 10/10 nonetheless. + Takes 6h or less to finish, depending on how actively you play + Graphics are cute and nice to look at + Economical upgrades feel useful and rewarding + Fair price for the amount of content you get + Game is easy to pick up and understand +/- Quite active gameplay (No problem for me) +/- For now, no post-game content +/- An unassign button for spirits would be great, in case you need them elsewhere - Combat is unbalanced and needs no strategizing I wish the dev nothing but the best. I hope to see more games from him, and I want to say thank you for this sweet idle game!

A true successor to Magic Archery, this is very enjoyable few hours through a charming idle game where you can be active or leave it and progress at your pace. Things unlock smoothly and always elevate the game. Took 5 hours in total to complete and I could keep going with more upgrades. This isn't meant to be endless, always chasing a goal you'll never reach, its a finite experience to be enjoyed and conquered and it's priced accordingly. Play Magic Archery first (its free) and if you think 'I want more of that!' well Tower Wizard has you covered!
