This is a tough one. The lack of a traditional Idle End Game makes it a tough sell long term; but the first 7ish hours are really solid. For 1$/hour? Sure its worth it. Just get it on sale and you'll have a good day of fun with it.

At 75 hours I have 100%'d the game. More idle games need to aim for a finish line and Idle Boss Rush is one where you can get in, enjoy, build and eventually decide to put it on the shelf, happy in what you've accomplished.

This was written during patch 1.1, things may change in the future but honestly i dont plan on coming back to this game. Despite my experience, i still will recommend the game, cause it was a good experience overall until i went for 100% (and i mean savefile 100% not steam 100%). The game have a major balancing issue going on right now, with only 3 builds (to my knowledge) able to reliably farm end bosses. Despite that, the game's design is really cool, the systems within it are interesting even if they arent deep but make for interesting synergies. Id argue that in its current state, "idle" isnt really a thing deeper in the game, and thats its major issue, active play is near mandatory to clear the game in a decent timeframe. Theres even a build going on that is pure active play that absolutely breaks the game. I still believe that its things that will be fixed overtime and the game will be better after a few more updates. It may seems like a very doomer take ended with a light of hope, but i really think the game is worth checking out, but not worth pushing for 100% in its current state (unless a true idle build gets found?).

OVERALL This is a pretty neat, satisfying incremental/idle game that is JUICY as hell. I played the demo, loved the ideas, and immediately got the full game on release. For a £7.50 / $9 it's a great deal. It's definitely worth a go if you like idlers/incrementals, and/or love the overall feel of this from the main vid. There are a few rough edges, and this isn't a crazy long grind style idle game, it's a relatively short, single player idler with some light management to keep it interesting, great characters, cool artwork and effects, and a BANGING soundtrack. PROS - Good balance between passive idling and active interaction - chill, not overwhelming - Soundtrack slaps, HARD. - Artwork is fantastic, game juice/FX excellent - very satisfying experience - Progression system is well constructed and feels interesting at its heart - Doesnt descend into 'number on screen go brrr', the visuals and worldbuilding (however simple) make it work CONS - Scaling is a bit rough round the edges, with the early/mid game unlocks coming in thick and fast, then slowing down very quickly toward the end, which forces some grind, which feels a little off for this game. You get a bit too much too quickly, but it's still good stuff. - Signposting for the prestiging system (soft vs hard prestiging) is a little unclear - the soft prestiging feels like cheating, honestly. - Partly because of the scaling thing meaning you unlock almost everything really quickly, it feels like the game needs a couple of extra 'things', there's a decent amount going on, but because you end up spending a lot of time with all the current systems/buildings etc, it feels like there needs to be more of a mid-late game mechanic that's introduced In conclusion, I rate this, and I'd recommend it if you like idlers/incrementals, as it feels pretty fresh. I personally hope that the dev keeps working on refining the game, and hopefully adds more content/DLC in the future!

It's a good game for the price, don't expect hundreds of hours of content though, for me it was a good, entertaining idle adventure.
