pretty fun, but there's a learning curve; ----- - the game timer is way off, it seems to take a week to cross a street, a day to cross a building; - why there's a helipad in an oilrig before helicopters are invented? - there are some bugs like the game freezes every time you make changes to a route if it has lots of vehicles / stops; - it seems the cargo doesn't affect the train speed, like i cant optimize like having full cargo downhill and less cargo uphill, etc. (it seems to only care about the number of carts); - having a helipad next to a fuel refinery doesn't seem to work to bring workers; - the main game hud that shows your profit rate doesnt care about my loans; - after a vehicle gets too old, it seems to disappear from the store, but you can still clone old vehicles, not sure if intended, but seems like a bad UX; - i think having cargo have a timer / expire is cool, but not sure if this should be applied to every cargo in game, its weird that stone, oil, etc also expires; - there's no vehicle collision, like ships / vehicles just clip into each other all the time; - i think the alert icons in the main hud are a bit overwhelming for me, having quests / missions appear as alerts kinda made me just want to ignore that part of the UI; - replacing vehicles with newer alternatives is kinda tedious work, maybe some UX improvements can help;

after jundreds of hours of TF and TF2 and years of waiting i am finally playing the game i knew was possible. it probably took me 5 hours to learn the new gameplay dynamics, at first i hated it and didnt understand how tf anything worked despite playing the previous games. i have a feeling this is why there is so many negative reviews under 5 hours of playtime. the addition of warehousing and the ability to have trains wait at a station and calculate when to leave to balance the frequency on a line have revolutionised how i play. mainlines and multiple cargo trains now make sense. you can even choose what percentage of the train to unload so you can have it go to 3 stops and put it to 66%, 33%, and 0%, it will only unload the train to the set percentage which was was not previously possible in TF2 automatic supply and demand system. in this game you have to manage how much you supply and scale it to the demand unlike tf2 where the productions did that for you. e addition of specialised platforms means there a reaon to have large intricate stations. Substadies break up the gameplay and give give you actual goals and objectives although many of them are too easy imo, like transport 10 workers from a city to a farm, 1 bus load and you get 7 million dollars lol. i completely disagree with people saying it feels like an update or dlc to TF2. this feels like a new game, its far more polished then TF2 however i have come accross minor bugs here and there and 1 crash.

Huge improvement over TF2. I can easily recommend it if you liked TF2, but just about every part of the game is better. The sandbox is much more dynamic: new industries pop up often, and towns are constantly demanding new cargo. Goods expiry times make you think differently about each line. Warehouses allow you to temporarily store goods and create useful hubs, making designing your lines much more enjoyable. Cargo is no longer assigned to an end destination once it is produced, and it can be carried wherever you want and used wherever you want. This is a game changer and opens the game up to so many possibilities. If you liked TF2 even just a little, trying out TF3 is a no-brainer. Games works flawlessly in 4k on my PC.

Take the performance reviews with a grain of salt, and ill tell you why. I think a lot of the negative performance reviews come from the game wanting to launch in windowed mode which made my computer (i7 and a 7900xtx) unplayable. Once i switched to fullscreen though i was getting 130 fps + on 1440p medium settings. if you launch the game SWITCH TO FULL SCREEN. To be fair i dont know why the game doesnt launch in fullscreen anyway and i was annoyed and upset at first. once i figured out the game hates windowed mode its been a very addicting day. overall the game improves on everything the last one establishes and it has changed a lot of quality of life features for the better. the game is stunning and can see myself dumping an unhealthy amount of hours into it. if you do decide to get it remember SWITCH TO FULLSCREEN so the game is playable. edit: I see for some of you switching to fullscreen didnt fix your issues, this is what worked for me and makes sense that it wouldnt work for everyone. ive been playing a meglomaniac world and performance is still good even with the whole map connected. seems like it varies computer to computer. but in my case the game has been everything ive wanted.

After 2.2k hours in the previous games I was really looking to this release Sadly it isn't anywhere near as polished as Transport Fever 2 was on release, but it isn't as bad as C:S2 The graphics are really nice and the new features are really cool, like subsidies and light rail, but I found some of the changes in tools and UI from the previous game to be a pain, for example - The road tool is just worse - The line manager is cumbersome and I find myself often making accidental stop aditions, or creating lines when I didn't mean to - Loading cargo settings via the line manager is a confusing mess - The errors with lines not showing up on screen at all and having to dig through the line manager to find them (they should be with the other messages at the top of the screen!) - Multiple times I've ended up in a state where I am placing a building and can't press N/M to rotate it without exiting the menu and selecting the building again - I've had the UI just completely break on me a few times in a few different ways - The lack of steam workshop just sucks, I get console cross-modding but the fact I gotta wait 5 minutes after every boot to let mods downloads is really annoying - While the UI elements being hidden is generally good, I wish there was at least an option to show everything like in the previous game I think long term, this game is gonna be a good one, but it has a lot more hiccups than the previous games did at launch, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about how paradox publishing this game instead of GSE is gonna affect it long term (roadmaps please?)
