TL:DR: You can probably play this game blind in about two hours, assuming you won't be getting every achievement, but will do everything on the list in each area. That's about the price of a movie ticket these days, depending on how fast or slow you go. For the best experience, I recommend getting this on sale (any sale, really) and playing this game with someone else. Could be a friend, family, partner, whoever is willing to kill two hours with you. While it is couch co-op, you can use steam remote play where you play with a controller and another person plays with a keyboard. Honestly, this is a great casual game to play and kill some time with. I love how relaxing it feels even if you're causing chaos and mischief. I saw Youtubers play it first, so I knew how the game went, but I decided to make it a date and play it with my husband together while we ate some homemade food. We had some good laughs tormenting the towns people together and when he was done playing I was able to continue on my own to achievement hunt. This isn't a very hard game to perfect, so I would at least try to do everything for a fun challenge. I mainly have two problems with this game: the amount of content and the price. For two hours for base game, this game feels a bit too expensive to play when not on sale. That's why I chose to wait for a sale and make it a part of a nice date. It's good for something you can put down whenever and not feel committed to playing, but I do really wish there was more content. There is a small amount of post game content that is enjoyable, but takes maybe an hour to complete. Most of your extra time gets spent on trying to do the timed challenges. All but the pub are fairly easy. I really hope that they make a sequel game that maybe has three or so different villages to torment and we can play as different species of geese themed to the areas. That to me would make it feel like paying $20-$25 for the different locations and art/music assets. I still like the simplicity of the game, and so I just want to expand to different locations.
I finally convinced my friend to come play this with me, promising a short trial to see if she liked to play it. We were cackling like deranged swamp witches until 2am. I woke up my dogs. I woke up my kid. I woke up half the county manically laughing at all the shenanigans we got into. This game is like therapy, everyone needs it. Terrorize your local quiet village like no Disney character ever could. Steal their leeks, untie shoes, feed the inner gremlin! Or else... honk
I only bought this horribly annoying game because my girlfriend (Jessica) spent an entire afternoon applying next-level psychological pressure — “it’ll be fun, trust me” — until I gave in. Spoiler: it wasn’t. The game is irritating, boring, and feels like it was designed specifically to test both my patience and my controller. Still, I decided to platinum it. Not because I liked it… but because every failure added another ridiculous moment to the collection: me complaining, her laughing, and me promising “one last try” for the 47th time. She didn’t help me get the platinum (she only did the most important part: convincing me to buy it). But somehow, she still ended up being the reason for the best laughs — because I’d always tell her the whole “war story” afterwards like it was a mission report. In the end, the platinum is medium difficulty, the stress was high, my pride is questionable… but laughing about it with my girlfriend Jessica was easily the best part of this platinum.
I freaking love this game. Gained a mild obsession with geese due to other events, and decided to get this game. Exactly what I was hoping for, chaotic game where you terrorize people as a goose, 10/10 would recommend. I also really like that it gives you extra tasks to do after you complete the main ones. Oh and it being in the category of "villain main character" makes me laugh harder than it should.
