I feel very mixed about this review, so I'll give it my best shot: Negatives: - I find it sad that it feels like the support is dropped. No updates since very short after release - Community is dead, online games will not be easily possible and it was designed with multiplayer in mind Mixed: - It has a very difficult learning curve and it does not help you allot in figuring out what to do - Once you know how to navigate the battles by knowing how to deck grows and shrinks based on how and when you play the cards it suddenly feels like scenario's are possible (I do feel this is the reason the game failed to catch a community, I think it was well designed in its game mechanics, but poorly explained and if it does not hook you to figure out, you might easily pass this game on for a game with simpler mechanics) Positives: - The art style is really appealing to me - I enjoy the 'figuring out what to do' at my own pace as it allows for in battle pauzes - Overall the game does feel good and fun to play, I enjoy the "will I survive this wave?" feeling of it, it is not one of those games that makes you absolutely loose or absolutely win, but every wave is a percentage, and then you get to optimize your base and see if you can survive a slightly stronger wave again. If you loose way quickly, figure out the mechanics and try again.

This game has absolutely stunning visuals. Just watching massive armies in action is already entertaining. I bought it mainly because I love the art style — I really want to support the developers to keep going. If they release more DLCs, I’ll definitely buy them all. In my opinion, the price is already worth what I paid. Don’t forget to share development updates on social media from time to time. Right now, it feels like the game isn’t being actively developed, which could affect people who are considering buying it in the future. Before I bought it, I had the same hesitation — it looked like the game might have been abandoned. I’d love to see more people playing this game. It’s a great game, but it just hasn’t been promoted enough.

This is a fun and unique take on the deckbuilder / tower defense genre. I'm tentative to call it a tower defense since it plays so much differently from the more traditional tower defense games. Deck building aspects are strong here and how you arrange your deck is quite important for how the game plays. There are a good variety of strategies and a mixture of different deck types to select from. Playing the game revolves around managing your deck cards and placing economic, military (barracks) and towers to defend your city. The game appears simple at first but you will find there is more depth to it once you get into it. For the single player campaign, the missions are fun and challenging. I've played through about one third of them now. Note that all of them, that I have played, have pre-built decks, maybe the later ones allow you to customize. The game really shines when you start playing it in multiplayer. Unfortunately, no one is playing this game anymore, so you will need to have friends to play with to truly enjoy the game. Either that or you will have to find players on the discord channel to join up with. The negatives are, for one, there is no skirmish mode. This is a fairly big negative, I'd say, since, once you finish the campaign, you'll need real players to actually continue to play the game. Also, the multiplayer rooms are not setup well. There are battle royal and horde modes which allow players to wait for matchmaking to occur. Unfortunately, the custom matches are very poorly designed. Unlike in other games, there is no custom game list. You can't look through the custom games available and join what you want; you can only join a custom game if you know the password. Overall, this game is fun and engaging. If you have friends to play with, then I can definitely recommend it. Still, the campaign is also fun and challenging. If you get it on sale and only play through the campaign, then you may still get your worth of the game. Unfortunately, without a skirmish mode, you will need friends, or will need to find players through their discord channel, to be able to continue to enjoy the game.

Really enjoy this one. Big battles of beautifully animated guys, fun deck building elements as well. The campaign is very challenging, starting you off with scenarios that involve pre-built decks and opening up to let you use your own after getting you familiar with the factions. That being said, I do have a few gripes. The tutorials are not the greatest at explaining everything, and seem to give incorrect information in some cases. Some missions are a little too gimmicky and last just a little too long. Other missions feel aggressively punishing. Which would be fine if there were later in the campaign, but it feels odd that some of the intro missions for the factions are so aggressively difficult when you are still so early in the game. Even with it's flaws, I still enjoy the game a lot and plan on continuing to play it for a while longer.
