I believe this one is the DLC and you can only play tech-adept without base game? Not sure why they have decided to make it as a separate game, but hey, got me 100% achievements in a few hours. Still, the tech adept is 10 / fun, bots shred stuff in no time. Campaign is fun too. Worth it 100%.

offline mode is a genuine Green flag, I take that as I can continue playing even after the game becomes no longer in service. good content, Lore accurate. now they just need to expand off this gaming style for more W40k games

I do not recommend it for new players with no connection to Warhammer 40k universe. The game is for online purposes pretty dead. Many cabals I found having players who are offline for 2000k+ days. This makes it really hard to find other online players. But it is possible. Was not that important to me to be honest since I basically play campaign. I found a cabal but still not playing any coop missions so far. Regardless of my thumbs down. The game itself is really cool. Well done and a lot of loot and stuff to create. For fans of Warhammer 40k franchise I would recommend the game. I hope there will be a "part 2" one day. It really makes fun slaughtering the scum of the universe. Controls are neat and so on. tl;dr If you like Warhammer 40k Universe: grab this and play the campaign (but only in sale 50%+) If you think Warhammer is somehow related to Thor's hammer: stay away.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Prophecy is a standalone expansion to the action RPG Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr, offering a refined and focused experience that builds upon the base game’s systems while introducing a new class, additional story content, and meaningful gameplay improvements. Set in the grimdark future of the 41st millennium, the game immerses players in the role of an Inquisitor—an elite agent of the Imperium of Man charged with rooting out heresy, daemons, and corruption in all forms. Prophecy continues the core storyline while also functioning as a standalone entry for new players, though full appreciation comes from having played Martyr. One of the most immediately compelling additions in Prophecy is the new class: the Tech-Adept. Unlike the other archetypes in Martyr, the Tech-Adept focuses heavily on summoning and managing constructs. This class brings a unique strategic element to the typically fast-paced, action-heavy gameplay. Rather than charging headfirst into combat, Tech-Adepts command an array of robotic servitors and gun platforms, each with specific roles—some act as tanks, others as long-range artillery or support. Managing your construct loadout becomes just as important as personal skill use, and this adds a refreshing RTS-lite flavor to the traditional ARPG loop. It's a significant departure from the more standard combat roles offered in the base game and provides an entirely new way to experience the universe. The story in Prophecy picks up after the conclusion of Martyr, delving deeper into the mysteries of the Caligari Sector, a region plagued by warp anomalies, heretical cults, and ancient alien threats. The narrative continues the themes of corruption, faith, and secrecy that define the Warhammer 40K universe. While the dialogue and voice acting remain somewhat uneven—occasionally stilted or overly dramatic—the worldbuilding is rich and thematically on point. Lore fans will appreciate the numerous references to factions like the Necrons, Eldar, and Chaos Gods, all wrapped in the bureaucratic zealotry that defines the Inquisition. That said, Prophecy still leans more toward mission-driven storytelling than deep character arcs. Much of the narrative is delivered through mission briefings, voiced monologues, and codex entries, which may not satisfy players looking for highly cinematic storytelling. Combat in Prophecy feels more refined than in its predecessor. The game retains its methodical pace—more deliberate than something like Diablo III, but less tactical than XCOM. Positioning, cooldown management, and crowd control are essential, especially at higher difficulty levels. The destructible environments remain a highlight, offering satisfying visual feedback as you blow apart cover and watch debris scatter amid plasma fire and bolter shells. Enemy variety has been expanded slightly, particularly with the introduction of the Necron faction, who offer distinct challenges due to their regenerative abilities and powerful ranged attacks. Playing through the campaign and side missions still revolves around the familiar ARPG loop: kill, loot, upgrade, repeat—but thanks to improved enemy AI and better mission diversity, the process rarely feels stale. Prophecy also benefits from quality-of-life improvements over the base game. The UI is cleaner, inventory management has been slightly streamlined, and load times are faster. Skill customization and item crafting remain complex but manageable, especially for players willing to engage with the game's layered upgrade systems. The difficulty scaling is fair, and the presence of co-op multiplayer—allowing up to four players—gives the game additional longevity. Endgame content is robust, with seasonal events, warzones, and procedurally generated missions keeping the experience alive well after the campaign ends. The power rating system and warzone modifiers encourage experimentation and replayability, though some players might find the grind necessary for high-end gear a bit tedious without a consistent group or long-term investment. Graphically, the game holds up well. It captures the brutal, industrial aesthetic of Warhammer 40K with heavy gothic architecture, grim atmospheres, and appropriately oppressive color palettes. Character models, particularly for elite enemies and bosses, are highly detailed, and weapon effects are impactful without being overwhelming. Audio design helps complete the immersive atmosphere—bolters sound weighty, lasguns whine appropriately, and ambient noises add tension during quieter moments. The voice acting, while serviceable, is often overshadowed by the quality of the environmental design and sound effects. For returning players, Prophecy feels like a proper expansion that doesn’t just add content but improves the foundation it builds on. For newcomers, it's a potentially better entry point than Martyr, especially if they’re drawn to the unique playstyle of the Tech-Adept. That said, understanding the broader narrative and universe will definitely be easier with prior exposure to the first game. There’s a lot of depth here—lore, mechanics, and build diversity—but the game doesn’t always go out of its way to explain itself. As such, it’s best suited to players who enjoy experimentation, appreciate deliberate pacing, and are already invested in the Warhammer 40K setting. In summary, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Prophecy is a well-executed expansion that refines the experience of Martyr while introducing meaningful new content. The Tech-Adept class, expanded campaign, and various gameplay improvements make it a worthwhile addition to the franchise. It's not a revolutionary overhaul, but rather a thoughtful continuation that deepens the original’s strengths and smooths over many of its rough edges. For fans of the 40K universe and those who appreciate a slower, more tactical ARPG with a grimdark sci-fi edge, Prophecy is a strong recommendation—especially when experienced as part of the complete Inquisitor package.
