Warside is a decently fun game. Pros - The campaign has a decent amount of content that should last you a good 24 hours or so. - AI is an improvement over Advanced Wars and doesn't mindlessly charge into you, though it still does a bit of noobish stuff here and there. - Great graphics and awesome artwork. Quite reminiscent of Wargroove. - Some interesting faction specific units like the Rhino. - Really interesting transport mechanics that make them a very strong part of overall strategy. - Some banger soundtracks. - Funny dad jokes. - CO powers that give you control over where they land. Cons - Air units can sometimes be really annoying and sometimes frustrating to deal with on certain missions given their increased mobility and survivability. - Naval gameplay feels a bit too simplistic. - Veterens of the genre may still find much of the campaign to be a little on the easy side.

It's time to re-evaluate what this game does right hence offers as a nice feature - Able to place 3 Infantry or 1 Light Vehicle plus an Infantry inside a Transport Copter... ... AND perform their actions after the Copter is above valid ground (Infantry can attack, capture, etc). Can't do anything like that in: Advance Wars (any) Wargroove (1 or 2) Empires Shall Fall Shattered Throne That means no wasting the old Advance Wars unit cap with a fleet of copters - now only a few are needed to begin an infantry invasion with light vehicle support - serious game changer for the genre. I'm trying to figure out some of the complaints regarding the too-easy AI - yes, that is an issue - thing is - Advance Wars AI is just as bad - only Days of Ruin somewhat fixed this into a stale-mate with Anti-Tanks. Wargroove only fixes the AI issue when building Custom maps then giving the Opponent CPU 3 factions as 1 then changing the behavior for each. Defenders flood choke-points, Attackers rush players, Guards protect roads. This game will need a similar solution - yet it's more doable than what most players seem to believe. I seriously wish that players would start remembering that Advance Wars is not the golden standard - if anything - this is a chance to fix what Advance Wars failed to fix - remember our flawed game design history. Appreciate what this game does right - and it'll be much easier to stop comparing it to Advance Wars... clearly, this game has a very different vision in mind despite all appearances - and there's still hope for improvements. I'm aware this game had a rocky start - devs are more active than most I've seen and they have my support to recommend the vision they have in mind for this game. Some of the complaints are valid, can't please everyone, just know that some of us are pleased and do yearn for more fixes to make this game better. Thanks for not abandoning this great concept - looking forward to the day it becomes a power-house product.

It's not yet complete - but the developers extremely vocal and active, and is frequently pushing updates. If you like Advance Wars, I think you'll like this. Here are the issues at the time of review: - Campaign is too easy - There's no place to view the commander abilities - Fuel and ammo depletion are not yet working - AI is a bit dumb What I like: - It's basically Advance Wars - It's fun, regardless if it's incomplete - Faction specific units - Map editor is actually pretty decent

I’ve completed all missions on both world maps on Brutal difficulty. I'd say the challenge feels similar to Advance Wars' Hard Campaign. Played over 30 multiplayer matches through matchmaking and lobbies, and I haven’t run into any connection issues since day one. Speaking of multiplayer the game has a lot of potential and the pacing is actually pretty fast and fun. Sure, there were issues at launch, but the devs have been pushing out patches regularly. That might’ve turned some people away, but honestly, I think it’s a solid game that deserves a second chance. And hey, if it’s not for you, there’s always the refund option—nothing to lose! I’ve got 60+ hours in so far and no regrets. The game definitely has room to grow, but if you’re a fan of the genre, I totally recommend it. GLHF!

Awesome game as long as the devs don't give up on it. I am sincerely enjoying playing this. the combat system and beautiful pixel graphics make it so fun to play, and the fast pace of the battles keep it from taking too long for a battle. This game was not ready for full release. It is severely lacking in features and has a multitude of bugs. I am leaving a positive review because I believe LAVABIRD is going to make this game great. We just need to give them a chance to fix their mistakes before we kill one of the best game ideas in a long time with negative reviews. If in a month nothing has changed, I will update this review.
