You ever play a racing game and think, Wow, this is way too predictable? Well, What the Car? heard you—and then completely lost its mind. This isn’t just a driving game. It’s a ridiculous, physics-bending, laugh-out-loud journey where your car sometimes has legs, sometimes has jetpacks, and sometimes... just decides to be a horse. I don’t know why. I don’t need to know why. One second, you're cruising along like a normal car (kind of), and the next, you’re flailing your way through an obstacle course, questioning if wheels were ever really necessary. This game doesn’t just think outside the box—it kicks the box off a cliff and does a celebratory dance on the way down. 10/10, would drive a car with human legs again.

God this game has finally been freed from mobile exclusivity. Not only was it limited to phones, but it was also exclusive to iPhones and iPads specifically. But at last, we’re dining well tonight. I am a huge fan of the WHAT THE series, and I never miss a new game from them and WHAT THE CAR? is no exception. Like the store description says (and I’m not going to reinvent the wheel here), it’s an absurdly silly adventure full of bite-sized levels, each varying in playstyle and theme. You play as a little car that regularly receives new forms, so the gameplay stays fresh. Grinding for the highest scores and medals might take some time and patience (and might even lead to a bit of gamer rage), but overall they don’t matter unless you’re one of those weird achievement hunters. This game runs pretty well on my favorite handheld AKA Steam Deck and that’s all that matters. I can’t recommend it for purchase enough and for my final sentence ill just say VIVA LA PC AND STEME please make a WHAT THE FUСК game next / 10

As a fan of What's the Golf I gotta say that this one is pretty great too, though different in a couple of ways. You really shouldn't expect WtG? but with cars. It's less focused on jokes and more on actual gameplay with longer levels, most are still easy but some not so much. Yet of course there's still absurdist humour aplenty. While 100%ing Golf was a cakewalk and I had little reason to come back, Car on the other hand has fewer but longer and slightly more challenging levels. Also you play them one by one and not as a quick series like in Golf. Some of the hard (skull) stages actually took me a bunch of tries and I haven't even seen the later ones. If you want to get the crowns (time) and cards (secret) some levels will make you actually work for them and require experimentation and creative thinking. Though don't get me wrong, the game isn't HARRRD hard, just more involved than Golf, imo it's well balanced. Now a negative review complained about a lack of variety but I feel there are enough new gimmicks, clever level designs, 'special' stages, secrets and challenges to keep things fresh. Actually, the further I get, the more fun I'm having while with Golf it was the opposite tbh. And again, Car has more reasons to dig into a level again and again. Plus you can design your own and obviously play stages from other players. Conveniently the devs have even chosen a few highlights and put them directly onto the maps. Still, there are a few issues, I don't mind traversing the world maps but as far as I can tell there's no way to jump directly to a level you already played. Which ist annoying if it's one of those skull levels which take a while to even get to on the maps. And the whole structure is overall more confusing than in Golf. Also I've noticed a few small bugs and the performance can be weirdly inconsistent. Though the dev(s) already released a patch, good to see. Anyway, after a few hours I would've said that while Golf was a 9/10 this is more like a 7.5/10. But now? 8 bordering on 8.5 easily. I just hope there aren't some bullshit levels waiting for me**, will edit this review if that's the case. Also Car costs about half as much as Golf and they keep adding more levels/events. So even if you end up not liking it as much as the first one it's most definitely a good game with lots of content to chew on. **Got all achievements now and there were a handful of level that took me more tries than I'll ever admit but all of them were optional afair.

This is a really fun game! I've already spent HOURS playing this with my kids, and found myself returning on my own to see what sort of quirky mix of gameplay mechanics and puns was just around the corner. Amazing game filled to the brim with dad-puns, cars that never does what you think they'll do, and tons of environmental humour to take in as you do anything but drive normally through the world - highly recommended!

Played the demo and finished their first game "What the golf?". This is more of the same in the best possible way. The minigames are very creative and the whole thing oozes with charm, the integration of the user made levels is done really well and will likely add tonnes of content to those who want to explore the various game types more thoroughly. I absolutely love what these guys are doing, and hope they continue with the series.
