All the negative reviews are not necessarily wrong, but may be in the wrong context. Yes, dialogue is not great. NPCs feel stiff and static. Animations are not the best. But coming from a small studio with a small budget I can overlook that for now. Story line is decent, not great, not terrible. It is a slow paced puzzle sort of game. I love the graphics and feel they did a great job on it. Game is priced accurately given the downfalls, but still gives several hours of gameplay. You cannot compare this with a AAA game. If you do that you will be disappointed. That being said, they have accomplished a lot and have a good foundation for improvements.

the sailing was a little underwhelming though it appeared to be interesting from the demo, but yeah when they provide a skip option it is just not really a useful mechanic by their own design. puzzles were ok, not challenging really as they were sufficiently documented in the journal. yeah it was OK, the overall design was good, but it was missing a wow factor when the sailing turned out to be less significant than expected.

Listen, I don't know what people are wanting nowadays. Not sure if my expectations are low or is everyone else too high. I really enjoyed this game. If you want, you can find flaws, things we didn't like but the story was the point and in that, this game succeeds. I didn't want a sailing game, I didn't want a fight the polar bear game, I wanted a story. Just coming off several of "those" kind of games, I needed something different. Not every game needs to be a forever game. Sometimes a game is just meant to be in the moment—and on that level, this one delivered for me. My only disappointment was it ended too fast. I do plan on playing it again and trying to get 100% of the items. Just a nice little game.
