“Sometimes the coldest place is not the ice around you, but the truth awakening inside your mind.” Arctic Awakening is a truly outstanding game. The story is surprisingly deep and multilayered. Even though the gameplay itself is fairly easy, and survival is more of a formality than a real challenge, the game makes up for it with intuitive controls, stunning landscapes, multiple routes toward your objective, and constant choices in both movement and dialogue. The story keeps you invested from start to finish, constantly making you question what is real and what is not. With each new chapter, those doubts only grow stronger. The ending does not feel rushed or unfinished. Quite the opposite - it opens up much broader questions about the nature of consciousness and the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence. It is a rare kind of game that continues to linger in your mind long after the credits.

Recommended... but don’t expect it to stick the landing A sci-fi mystery in the Arctic? Yeah, this is basically my dream game. And for a while, Arctic Awakening really sells it! Great atmosphere, cozy visuals, solid sound design, and a setup that feels like it’s building toward something big. Unfortunately… it never really gets there. 1. Walking simulator (and it really commits to that) There are long stretches where you’re just holding forward with almost nothing to engage with. No puzzles, not much to discover... just… walking. I get the genre, but this feels like it took the label as a personal challenge. There’s also a lot of dialogue. Honestly, less would’ve been more. The constant talking kind of undercuts the atmosphere that the game seems to be aiming for. 2. A mystery that forgets to solve itself (spoilers) The game throws out a bunch of genuinely interesting ideas... strange technology, interdimensional stuff, weird phenomena, hints at something bigger... and then mostly just… leaves them there. I never felt like I got a clear answer to what caused the crash, and by the end, it seems like there’s some kind of larger force or antagonist at play, but you learn so little about it that it barely lands. It’s the kind of story that keeps building questions and then quietly exits before answering them. Bottom line: There’s a really cool game in here. It just feels like it needed more depth, more interaction, and a much stronger payoff. If you’re here for atmosphere, it’s worth experiencing. If you’re here for a satisfying mystery… you might have to bring your own ending. GRIND <3

if you like firewatch this game is a must. however i do like this game but it doesnt fully capture the style of firewatch but it is super similar. what doesnt work for me is the voice acting, the robot is a little annoying at times. but the gameplay aspect is exactly like firewatch and i really enjoyed it. but also its unique in its own way. if you like firewatch youll like this game.

Originally, after completing the game I was planning to give it a thumbs down. But then I changed my mind and here is my case why you should not thumbs down it either. I wishlisted the game after watching an entertaining let's play of the demo. I was expecting the game to be Firewatch in its depth of story and visual fidelity, and The longest dark in its setting and survival gameplay. The let's play made me fall in love with the banter between the two human characters, so the expectations were high. Let me tell you this. This game is not Firewatch, and this game is not The longest dark either. And it shouldn't be. We are leaving in a world where if someone creates a masterpiece, we are automatically assuming that now it is easy for everyone else to reach the same level and that we should expect even greater thins in the future. This game is not Firewatch or The longest dark because it is still extremely difficult to make such a game. This game does its own thing and we should judge it on its own merits. I see all the hard work and passion that has been put behind this game, and all the potential this game had to become a masterpiece, therefore, I thumbs up it to encourage the developers of this game to keep creating and become even better at it. This game is not the final destination, but a stepping stone. And if you want to see the journey, the "what it takes to be ready to make a Firewatch or a The longest dark" you should play this game. I strongly believe that it is worth seeing what these people managed to create from a blank canvas. Only then one can truly appreciate how many coatings of paint have to be put in place to make it a masterpiece. Thanks for the journey!

Hello! Theese are my first thoughts of the game from a 40 minute playtime. Pros: Awesome voice acting. The dialogs feel alive, its just awesome. Lovely soundtrack. I would even say it's one of the best soundtracks for a game out there. Price. Now, after release it's 10% off, so I would say it's the perfect time to buy this. Graphics. It's no Unreal engine 5, but I would say, that the graphics are as good as they can be, for a game like this. Cons: Not much here to say, there is only one thing I don't like about this game at all. And that's the auto-jump. You can't jump over "obstacles" manually. The game jumps for you, which I don't like at all. Overall: Awesome game, as far as I can say. 9/10
